Initially I booked a bed to sleep in while checking out cenotes, but I got sooooooo much more. Dulce & Aleph and their two sons are some of the kindest and most beautiful souls I have met in this lifetime. They welcome you with open arms and endless love. If you take the bus, it will drop you off 5 min walking from the hostel if you ask the driver. When you are done your experience here, Aleph will at no cost drop you off at the bus terminal and make sure you are set. You may have seen pictures of cenotes or read about them. None of that can prepare you for what Aleph will expose you to. He speaks Spanish and English and he will guide you on a soul journey experienced by the sacred land, water, and energies his town has been blessed with. Nothing is pushed on you and his intuition will provide an experience for you that will leave a lasting memory forever. I spend time in open cenotes in the jungle surrounded by animals an nature. Got to do a morning meditation underground with sacred energies. To top it all, a call to his connections finished my trip with a night time horse and carriage ride, 4 km into the jungle to experience four cenotes at night. Dulce, his beautiful wife keeps the house clean and welcoming at all times. Nothing you ask for is an inconvenience here. For a very reasonable price, they will cook you the most beautiful meals, with local ingredients, lots of love,, according to your dietary needs, at whatever times you desire. I could go on forever, but hopefully you get the idea. Came here to recharge my battery and got so much more. With no light pollution, you see all the stars and moon at night, while listening to the harmony and sounds of nature. My cup is overflowing, my heart is expanded and my soul has rejoiced. As part of their name indicates, this place is pure gold!!!! Dulce, Aleph & family, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

The beds were VERY comfortable. The owners are very attentive and welcoming. They make you feel at home. The grounds are like a tropical paradise. You can hear the sounds of the jungle from your room. The breakfast for a fee was exceptional, and the value was better than anything in town. The secure parking was large and easy to park in. We can't wait to come back!

Great staff, very unique facility (our building was hobbit-like). The mini cenote pool and jacuzzi were clean and nice. Located in the small town of Homun. Very quiet.

We loved everything. The room was perfect. Separate from their personal home this 1 room tradition oval mayan adorable thatch roof home has a large walk in shower and comfortable bed. The host were kind and helpful with ideas to keep our day filled with ruins wildlife and villages to visit. Breakfast was a different dish each morning and we chose to have dinner there each night. We requested our meal to be whatever the family was having. We were surprised each night with a wonderful authentic and tasty meal. We are outdoors people and do not mind spiders bugs and maybe an Ant or 2. If you do not like bugs this is not for you. But if you enjoy the outdoors . You will love this place. There is a ceiling fan and hot water. This was a memorable and unique place to stay. It will be 1 of our favorite all time stays.

Homun is a small town with developing facilities that is at the center of the Ring of Cenotes - there are 20 or more either within or close to town limits. It's fairly quiet and not much to do except visit the Cenotes. One of the better places to stay is Hotel Santa Maria - it has a good restaurant, bottomless coffee refills, and a pool.

    Adjust your expectations.

Adjust your expectations. Staying at Cabañas Santa Cruz feels more like a glorified tent camping rather than room lodging. Other the the Church building, there are not a lot of things to do in Homún, it’s mainly cenotes.
