Good location, recently remodeled and still being remodeled but noise was at a minimum. Nice lobby with coffee and pastries in the afternoon. Breakfast was above average as well. Room was flawless and would stay again!

THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE HOST - she was wonderful to work with and very understanding of our situation. We were actually not able to stay at this location because the ferry system failed us. We had stayed in Hamn the night before with the plan of taking the morning ferry at Botnhamn to Gryllefjord pier (Andenes). Because there are so many caravans (motorhomes) clogging the roads, they take up all of the ferry space by camping out overnight in long lines to the pier. This makes it near impossible for regular cars to get on the ferry unless you literally camp out in a long line over night... in your car... along with the caravans with hopes to make the next ferry. It was apparent to us that we would not make the next TWO ferries because lines were so long and so we ended up driving 7 hours to our next location. I hope this host and all of the other hotels and businesses on both sides of this ferry launch a big complaint to local transportation authorities to offer many more ferries or put in restrictions on how many caravans can be put on a ferry at once, giving way to regular vehicles. Again, host was amazing and if ever we are in Andenes we would 100% book with her again based off our our experience with her.

A hidden treasure with few tourists yet.

A hidden treasure with few tourists yet. Only worse accessibility of the ferry from Senja island with a car, relatively small ferry. Several shops with all goods. Close to the harbor with whale and bird watching boats. Close to the town of Bleik with an amazing trek to Matind and puffin watching on Bleiksoya.

It feels like a third of the town is empty...many shops are...

It feels like a third of the town is empty...many shops are closed...very few restaurants remain (surely due to the closure of the NATO airbase). Grocery shopping is easy, with several markets and a petrol station. The nature and surroundings are beautiful. It's okay as a destination for the ferry to Senja, but you can save yourself several days and use your time better elsewhere.

Horrible. A place of depression and stress. The cafe prices are high, for some reason. There's absolutely nothing to do there, and there are tons of tourists, and there's nothing for them. I don't understand how the whale safari even exists. We waited two days for it, it was endlessly postponed, and we had to leave. I don't recommend it. It's unpleasant and unclean.

Andenes is a cozy town on beautiful Andøya.

Andenes is a cozy town on beautiful Andøya. It is a short distance from beautiful beaches, close to hiking in the mountains, opportunities for freshwater fishing and not least the opportunity for whale watching. We found it challenging to get a table at the local restaurants - it is therefore recommended to book in advance.

Wonderful whale safari with Walsafari Andenes (MS Reine), we observed sea eagles very close up on the beach of Bleik, Spacemuseum Andenes with exploration of the Northern Lights, whale steak in Lyskhuset was excellent.

Andenes is located on the "beautiful island" where there is...

Andenes is located on the "beautiful island" where there is a lot of beautiful nature. Mountains, sea, sandy beach, midnight sun, whale watching and northern lights in winter. A place that just has to be experienced. In addition, the people who live here are friendly and easy to get in touch with.

We had a very nice room with sea view, a big, comfy bed and slept very well. The house is such a unique piece of history, you can find so many interesting things and pictures! Sitting downstairs with a cup of tea, enjoying the silence and the atmosphere, is for sure one of my top memories from Andenes! Thank you for opening this magical place for us tourists!

The staff were so friendly: drawing on area maps to help us find hikes and driving routes. The location is very central in Andenes, the breakfast was filling with delicious coffee (very important for us!), and they did a load of laundry for us which was greatly appreciated!

Although it was a pity that we didn't see whales, we saw the beautiful aurora in Andenes, and the natural scenery here is also worth visiting. We like this apartment very much. It has complete facilities and a great location. We spent a very memorable and happy few days!
