Feeling welcome to use the hot tub (which we did!) and finding a (vegan) ice cream as a surpise in the freezer were lovely touches - we've not had either in other locations. The bed and decor and supplies were top notch. All very comfortable and inviting. We'd highly recommend!

Spacious for 2 people: 2 bedrooms + bathroom + living room + patio area
Cookies, fresh fruit available, coffee and tea upon arrival. Delicious breakfast including pastries, croissants, bread, preserves, yogurt, fresh fruit, orange juice, chocolate milk.
Very comfortable bed with lots of pillows. Very clean! Kitchen well-stocked.
We were here one night; 4:30pm - 10am.

The whole stay was beautiful from the comfortable...
The whole stay was beautiful from the comfortable Accommodation, the Hosts kindness and interesting conversation we had in passing, the beach must surely be one of the best in NZ.
The local Mexican cafe has the best "Classic Marguerita".
The local Tavern had fantastic entertainment that weekend and what an incredibly popular place.
Look out for signs promoting homegrown fruit and veges around the area. So worth stopping to support local. Everything is big in the Bay of Plenty and seems to have an extra richness - must be the soil.
Went to Ohiwa oyster shop where you can buy oysters and chips and sit at a table overlooking the sea view. Simple yet so beautiful. Whakatane, the bigger town just over the Hill has sooooo many cafes, is also a wonderful area to visit. We went to Wairaka for a coffee and once again looked at the beautiful homes and fabulous sea views. Would I go back? Absolutely.. Hope you enjoy as much as we did. So easy to get around and has such a relaxing vibe. I heard Whakatane has the best Fish and chips, sadly we had to leave for another time as were spoiled with other delights. My photos, I had to get off line as my daughter had all on her camera but the following are a sample of the food from the local Mexican in Ohope Beach, the Oyster farm at Ohiwa and the calm and serene Ohope Beach where you can enjoy a pretty good walk.

The motel was charmingly quaint, with everything one could need. Peaceful, the location away from traffic and village life was ideal and to be able to hear and watch the sea and surf from the kitchen window and our little sun court was magic.
It was spotlessly clean , bed and pillows were very comfortable and the owners very pleasant to deal with.
We did add another night on to our stay. We will be back !

The comfortable beds and the peaceful atmosphere. Coffee shop in walking distance had the best coffee and reasonably priced. The hosts even offered us bikes at no extra expense

Beautiful beach area with all the wants of a travellers passing through or staying a for a while. Lovely cafes, restaurants and arts and crafts shops on the main street, parks for families and of course the stretch of beach from West End to the Ohope Wharf for fishing.

Loved the location being just across the road from the beautiful Ohope Beach.
Liked the reasonable room rates.
Clean rooms, plenty of storage. Housekeeping for long stays meant less disturbance. Our unit had everything you needed for short or longer stays. Decor was nice, linen crisp and rooms clean and tidy. It was quiet and staff were so friendly. The backdrop of bush and lush gardens meant plenty of wildlife around which was magic. Tui, Kereru/Kukupa, Ruru and Piwakwaka.

10/10 would definitely stay again! Beautiful location, nice modern room with everything included - the hosts really covered all basis. The spa and sauna were a nice relaxing touch too. I was also pleasantly surprised with the breakfast items provided. Overall it was a beautiful 3 days spent in Ōhope Beach. The hosts are amazing!
