The manager really helped us with our travel plans, including details like where's the cheapest gas station and what time to leave for our Milford Sound cruise. The room was cosy and clean, felt simple but it was exactly what we needed for a night in Te Anau. Just a short walking distance from a nice lake walkway and bird sanctuary, and a few minutes drive from town. The manager also kept our luggage safe all day after checkout during our trip to Te Anau.

Te Anau is a beautiful lakeside town in South West New Zealand. The views around the town are stunning and there is a wonderful information centre. There is a supermarket, cafes and restaurants. One of the main activities is walking, either long or short. It is also the entry to Milford Sound.
its a small village with everything you need. easy, friendly, we stayed at Tasman by the lake, beautiful views. We chose Te Anau because we are driving and it is half way between Queenstown and Milford Sound, 2 hours either side, which gave us a perfect stopover to enjoy this area too.
Te Anau is always a lovely trip. Ive stayed at this holiday park 3 times now in different types of rooms, always comfy beds, clean and good value. I repeat discount would be nice but I'm happy staying anyway. good for solo, couples friends or families I always book the hot tub but note you cant use if travelling solo which isn't great. I like to book pre or post a hike (lots around here) or when taking friends to milford or the glow worms or doubtful. just as nice summer or winter. the sandfly, miles better pies, the ranch, and wapiti cafe are fav spots with good food and coffee.
There is plenty to do in Te Anau and everything is in close proximity and easy to walk to. The food is delicious with Venison on every menu. Our favorite outings were the Glowworm caves, Milford Sound, the hike to Key Summit, the movie on Fordland and the Vintage car and machinery Museum.
We stayed here on the way back from Milford Sound. In the morning we took breakfast at the SANDFRY here which was very nice, comming back in the evening, bought meals and fruits in Fresh Market and cooked in the Asure Motel. Had a good time! lol
Te Anau is a destination for those wishing to view stunning scenery and enjoy bush walks, and is the entranceway to some of New Zealand's Great Walks. Lots of activities on offer that emerse you in this spectacular part of New Zealand. The road trip to Milford Sound is incredibly beautiful and unique, and an exceptional oppurtunity to cruise the wonders of Milford Sound.
