If going to Machu Picchu or hiking the inca trail, it's better to stay in Ollantaytambo than Cusco. Otherwise you have a 2 hour bus drive to Ollantaytambo anyway to catch the train. Cute old Incan town with amazing ruins.Guest review byAlanahAustralia - 10.0
Just an amazing place.
Just an amazing place. We loved it so much we were afraid Cuzco wouldn’t measure up (but it did). Great place to acclimate for the higher altitude of Cuzco. We had to leave the hotel at 5 am, and since breakfast wasn't ready at that time, they had a small lunch prepared for us. We were also recommended a restaurant when we were hungry and looking for something to eat, and their recommendation was excellent: the Mawic restaurant.
