With a garden , Parque de Campismo da Ilha do Pessegueiro is located 2.5 mi from Porto Covo. The property features a games room and a restaurant and bar on site in the summer. Staff was great. Rooms are big and have all necessary amenities for smaller scale cooking. The locarion is in a quiet area and close to the beaches. Great place for a summer vacation, if one is not looking at spending too much.
Sweet town, but very touristy feeling. Tour buses dropping people in, and the restaurants felt geared for tourists too. (though check out the pizza place in the main street, excellent). Great view from the coastline but not a swimmable beach. Really central to some great day trips, but I think there are better towns in the area for a longer stay. Check out the horseriding nearby, excellent.
Charming beach town with a bohemian vibe. We ate at Lamela's which was delicious and has a beautiful view of the bay from the seating on the back deck. Lovely to stroll around the center of this small town during the day and night. Highly recommend!
There are so many beach towns to choose from in Portugal. Porto Covo is very laid back with a few good restaurants (Ze Inacio, Lamales), an open air food market, good grocery store, a beautiful beach side hiking trail and incredible beaches. We wanted somewhere we could really relax, where they wasn't actually a ton to do other than walk and lounge on the beach. Porto Covo is a little hidden gem and there were not a ton of Americans there which we liked (being American ourselves!). Late June is a good time to go. We heard July & August are even busier.
Lovely coastal village very clean and typical of the region. Nice walk down to the ocean, great views. Good selection of restaurents and a good Italian Pizza place. Delightful cafe/ coffee shop. A good Icream parlour.
Small town, quiet at night where we stayed, although we were there outside of peak season - I imagine it may be much different in summer when people are there for the beaches. The ability to walk along the coastline (this is near the beginning of the Rota Vicentina) was wonderful as was the scenery/ambiance above the town beach in the evening at sunset.
We visited in March - superb weather and very quiet at this time of year. There were a few restaurants open on the main pedestrian street. Beautiful cliff top views (sunsets). No large beaches and most accessable only via stairs. A sleepy town that would probably be quite crowded in summer. Easy to walk throughout the village.
It's very central - Porto Covo is small but this is also near the parking. The house is very well equipped with everything one needs (and probably even more) for cooking and enjoying some holidays. We only stayed one night but for those staying longer I doubt that they'll be missing anything - potentially, depending on amount of luggage there's not much storage space.
Porto Covo
We wanted a quiet, rural place to stay while traveling the Coast, and it far exceeded our expectations. The setting is beatiful, the hotel is very well kept, nice grounds and a gorgeous sea view. We eat at the Hotel, food was very good and a very nice breakfast next day. The staff was very friendly and attentive. great experience all around
Porto Covo
We really enjoyed the spacious room and the location of O Lugar. Sadly, we had the only room in the whole B&B which did not have a balcony, therefore we had to have breakfast in the common room. However, breakfast was great, so it made up for it.
Porto Covo
The host was extremely nice. Room was spacious and clean. Nice fire place to relax in the evening in common area. Good value for money, convenient location. We would definitely come back here next time we have the chance to visit Porto Covo again.
