My family and I haven't been to Mackinaw City in over 20 years. We were so happy to be able to get back there. It's a cute little city with plenty of restaurants, shopping and things for kids to do. It's also very dog friendly! There's plenty of parking and it also has a nice public bathroom area. You won't be disappointed, there's something for everyone to enjoy!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Mackinaw will always be my happy place. I do like going during off season times because way less people. Waiting in line at restaurants was a drag but expected. The Crossings need some new shops. We Booked out tickets at Waterfront Inn for cabins with a perfect beach view and all the appliances in the cabin. Upon arrival there was no such cabin for us and they gave us an old style room with dim lights and water in the bathroom tub was all clogged! Just cuz we booked cabins we prepared a lot of raw marinated food to go and enjoy there but it was ruined ! They provided tiny refrigerators only! No microwave at all! The swimming pool look like it was not cleaned for decades! GROSS! The beach on the back of the building was full of flies and bugs! Don’t waste your money and trip!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Love the beaches and the shops. Watched the bridge light up every night.Watched the ferries and freighters. The shops were fun. Ate at Darrows and Dairy Queen. We visited the fort at the base of the bridge - this is a must see, particularly for those who enjoy history. A short ferry ride will take you to Mackinac Island for the day. There you can wander around the shops or take a bike ride around the island. We chose to take a long walk around the island - 8.1 miles. It was absolutely beautiful! There is also a fort on the island - that one is ok, but the one under the bridge in Mackinaw City is better (just my opinion).
