Did not stay at the location. The front desk could not figure out how to post my credit cards kept saying they were denied on two different cards. They canceled my reservation and made a new one, therefore causing booking to charge me $142 for a room that I didn't even stay in and still have not received a response from booking.com

San Raphael is a sweet little stop to stay on your way to visit Mt. Tamalpais. There are good restaurants within walking distance from the new Marriott in downtown. It is a quieter destination than the bigger cities like San Francisco or Berkley, which is nice.
I highly recommend Il David to grab dinner.

The room was spacious and had great air conditioning.
The room was spacious and had great air conditioning. They had blackout drapes and a nice tub. I loved the shampoo and conditioner that was already in refillable dispensers in the tub/shower area. They also had every channel I could ask for with the TV and I was able to access my netflix as well. I will stay there again. Great value.

San Rafael was a great location for our mission of tracing ancestors in Marin County.
It was also easy to get to the San Francisco bay area and beyond.
Plenty of shops within a short drive.
We even took a trip out to Napa while there.

There are lots of restaurants on the main street. There are things to be seen in the surrounding area, but I have seen them before. This trip was to see people. I ate at IHOP, great friendly spot open until 10 pm. Also Phyliss's Giant Burgers - and that's no lie. I also had a very good crepe at the Crepevine Restaurant, which had a large selection of crepes, omelettes, sandwhiches and more.

I actually visited friends in nearby San Anselmo and it was great, shopped a little, walked around the neighborhoods, ate in some truly inspired restaurants, and thought this is a really special little town

On site manager and staff very good.
On site manager and staff very good. General manager is absentee and terrible. Does not make himself available to respond to a reseervation change. The property is not well maintained and is declining in repair. It
Jack at the front desk was very friendly informative and courteous. This is the ultimate one can expect from a hotel staff member. Jack took the time every morning to give us a short list of recommendations. We have extended our stay twice. We liked the area and the hotel
Extremely nice staff, checkin and checkout. Awesome clean & spacious room. We also loved the foresty vibe in combination with the palmtrees in front of the hotel. All in all we felt comfortable and would've loved to spent more nights!
It was a cute B&B. Felt nostalgic. The staff was helpful and offered to carry our bags. A good deal for the price, considering California overcharges an arm and a leg on hotels.
