Design Hostel P182

Schöneberg, Berlin

Well located in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district of Berlin, Design Hostel P182 is located 2.4 km from Potsdamer Platz, 2.5 km from Berliner Philharmonie and 2.8 km from Holocaust Memorial. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The hostel features family rooms. This place is as close to perfection as you can get. For me, it can't be faulted. I also can't imagine how a hotel could do better apart from giving you a private bathroom but this makes the absolute best effort to give you the cleanest bathroom possible. No matter what time of day you go in, there are always fresh towels and it's just spotless. Location. Excellent. So close to public transport. Bike and scooter hire available on the street. Coffee and juice shops on the doorstep and walking distance to so many amazing places to eat or buy groceries. Wifi. Flawless. Staff. Friendly and welcoming, super helpful, kind and caring. Room. Nicest I've ever stayed in. Super clean. Amazing design. Kitchen. Free coffee. Free popcorn. Water filter. Free herbal tees. Common room. Amazing, spacious, clean and comfortable. After 4 years of travelling with varying budgets this is the best value for money I've ever experienced.

New Hostel Berlin Mitte

Reinickendorf, Berlin

Boasting free bikes, shared lounge, garden and free WiFi, New Hostel Berlin Mitte is situated in Berlin, 3.6 km from Memorial of the Berlin Wall and 5 km from Natural History Museum. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, room service and ticket service for guests. In my decades of travel around the world, I can confidently say this hostel is the best one I've stayed in (36 countries so far). The services provided are more like in a hotel. For a hostel dorm price, I got a room good for 3 people only, free full breakfast (eggs, cheeses, cold cuts, bread, cereal, milk, yogurt, sweets, meat, etc), free coffee/tea/hot choco the whole day, fast Wifi, clean facilities, free toiletries (shampoo, body wash, spray deodorant, shaving gel for men), free socks for late check-ins, free use of slippers, and free use of bikes. Towels (face, hand, and body) and linen are included in the price, too. And the manager, Nellie, is absolutely A+. We couldn't communicate -- I didn't have any German, and she spoke no English -- but she made me feel welcome. I would highly recommend. Bus stop is 2 min walk away. Subway is 10 min walk.

Midel Hostel

Lichtenberg, Berlin

Featuring a shared lounge, Midel Hostel is set in Berlin in the Berlin Federal State region, 5 km from East Side Gallery and 6 km from Alexanderplatz. The property is situated 7 km from Neues Museum, 7 km from Berlin Cathedral and 7 km from Berlin TV Tower. Pergamon Museum is 8 km from the hostel and Gendarmenmarkt is 8 km away. Excellent and friendly service, very flexible check-in and checkout (I came a bit later, that's why just called the phone number, that was written on the door, and went inside), everything was comfortable, clean and just perfect! For me was important that the hostel is close to the S-Bahn station, but it was even closer that I was expected, and I was surprised, but in around 700 m from the place was the big supermarket, that works till 12am, what is also very rarely. I'll come there again!

Hostels – what are they?

Hostels offer so much more than a cheap place to stay – they're also a fun way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens and game rooms give you the chance to swap tips, tricks, and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long way since the first youth hostel opened back in 1912. Nowadays there's something for everyone, from budget "crash pads" to 5-star "poshtels." Whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll see that most hostels are cheaper than local hotels – and a lot more fun, too!
