Absolutely the BEST Albergue experience ever. I was walking with a friend who had a booking in another place a bit further down the road, whom the kindest hosts not only invited in for a break, but even to spend a good while chilling in the amazing pool in the backyard. You can really tell you're with a host who cares, about the pilgrims, about the Camino, and about the community. Facilities were top notch too, absolutely nothing to put a finger on. They also have a bar where you can buy drinks at a good price, and they serve amazing and fulfilling dinner at a super fair price. I'd rarely recommend going out of your way to try and spend a night on a Camino in any specific place, but if anywhere, this'd be the one.

The best hostel I' ve ever been to. The location itself is unique. During the day, it is a functioning train station that closes at night. Clean bed linen. Separate showers and toilets for men and women, everything is very clean. Friendly staff. Incredibly high ceilings. You can find a hairdryer in the shower (dyson(!)).. And the buffet breakfast included in the price is excellent: a sandwich, coffee, juice or yogurt, and tea - all fresh, with a variety of choices. I recommend this place!

Easily the best place I have stayed in my two caminos (frances and portuguese). Sparklingly clean, wonderful host who absolutely makes you feel at home. They helped me with everything I needed and also completely gave me space to unwind and decompress. Clean fully equipped kitchen, free coffee and milk, and tea, and snacks and treats for sale (chocolate, wine) and space in the fridge. There is an outdoor area to sit, but its so perfectly located - right on the camino when you first arrive in esposende and and just about a hundred meters from all kinds of shops, coffee, plaza etc. There is a laundry across the street with fast and good washer and dryer. I stayed an extra day and washed my clothes, bought hiking poles and a better backpack ( mine was terrible) - everything was available and easy to get too. I bought groceries and cooked and saved money that way. The room was suprisingly huge, and there was a blessed SPACE HEATER that kept my room nice and toasty in cold november. Truly excellent. If I ever come back to Esposende I will definitely stay here again.
