Pool was amazing but cold I guess to be expected, would only be good on hot days in summer
Spa needed to be warmer and staff needed to monitor parents allowing children to ignore rules splashing and kicking turning on and off constantly (button needs to be higher so children can not access), putting heads under water. One child under 2yrs went under water a near drowning parent was standing above them watching other children in the other pool unsupervised. Strict instructions need to be given at check in for families with young children.
Perfect weekend getaway plus golf at your doorstep offers accommodations in Salamander Bay, 3.1 miles from Anchorage Marina Port Stephens and 3.7 miles from Soldiers Point Marina.

Beautiful property, cozy and tastefully decorated, wonderful views of the golf course, well equipped with all the necessities to enjoy a nice break! Our doggie enjoyed looking at the wallabies and walking and sniffing around the property common areas, we stayed off the green as we don’t play and not sure if its allowed to walk around specially with our dog, however the common areas around the main street and along the entrance to the property are very beautiful, also we discovered a walking trail at the bush behind the golf course, so that was more than enough for us. Super enjoyable stay and would love to go back.
Just a 5-minute walk from the beach and 2 minutes' walk from the town center, Hotel Nelson (formerly The Nelson Resort) has a heated swimming pool, fitness center and a steam room.
Located in Soldiers Point, Bannisters Port Stephens offers beachfront accommodations a 3-minute walk from Kangaroo Point Reserve Beach and provides facilities like an outdoor swimming pool, a terrace...

Lemon Tree Passage Motel was a great spot for our night stay. We had a wedding at Tanilba bay House and it was a perfect location. Rooms have been renovated, nice and clean everything you need and a comfy bed.
Tea Gardens Motel is a 2-hour drive from Sydney and a 1-hour drive from Newcastle. The property is a 1-hour drive from Nelson Bay, or you can take the ferry from Tea Gardens to Nelson Bay.

the location is super good, step away to the beach and room is clean.
Apartments are privately owned but managed by the resort.
Apartments are privately owned but managed by the resort. Lagoon pool is huge and you can access from the balcony. Opposite is a large shopping centre with fast food and supermarkets. Only restaurant in close proximity is in the resort if you like pizza. Buses run front the door to Nelson Bay. We fly but would probably come by car next time.

Salamander Bay is a great location to unwind and have a short break from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. You can choose to go to the beach or drive a few kilometers for other outdoor activities. The sand dunes and camel ride activities are just a short distance drive. The Oaks Port Stephen Pacific Blue Resort is one of my most highly recommended accommodation, with great location and amenities.

Appliances all great. Absolute waterfront. No more than 20 steps away from water.
Salamander hotel has a curtesy bus. We had dinner there, food was great, entertainment was good.
Next time we will visit more local areas, we just didn’t want to leave the amazing property.

We went to lot of activities, camel ride , shark and ray was a gem , we able to get in the water to pat and feed the sharks and sting ray, it was fun for whole family. Dolphin cruise dolphins just swim next to your boat . Sand boarding .
We went to butterfly house, it was a huge disappointed. Over priced with poor condition. Not treating animals right , if you planning to visit , DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Having a kitchen with a stovetop and the oven was great as well as a washing machine and dryer facilities inside. The pool is just outside the room meaning no need to walk far to get to it. The parking was free and it was only a small walk to your room and back. I do recommend an apartment room with a swim out as it is the nicest option if you plan on staying at the resort most of the time. Internet access was great to have too. The room was spacious and the en-suite bathroom was big with a spa bath which was a luxurious touch.
Exceptional place – Delightful people – Gorgeous stay
We spent a great time in Salamander Bay Bed & Breakfast.
Located in a beautiful and quiet property, the room itself is spacious, comfortable, very clean with very nice original decorations and equipped with everything we could possibly need.
The hosts, Merilyn & Bruce, are easy style people, not intrusive at all and very attentive and helpful in advising places to visit and eat out.
We really enjoyed this place that we very highly recommend.
Bedrooms and plunge pool and the whole apartment had a generous size. We were with other group of friends who were in 2 separate apartments and we still got to share dinner with them. The resort had one of the best locations which was also close to amenities, the beach area and some other outdoor activities that you can go to. My husband really enjoyed his lap swimming at it was a heated pool. The kids were just a bit disappointed as the main pool was closed for renovation.
The hotel complex was fantastic. We received a complimentary upgrade on our room and it was lovely and spacious. The pools, spa pool and sauna were a great addition.
The staff were the selling point of the fantastic hotel. The reception team were very helpful and the team working in the restaurant/ bar were so friendly and chatty, it was a joy to go down there every day.
What a fantastic place to stay. Such a find! The bedroom suite above their double garage is wonderful and so spacious and welcoming. The gardens are peaceful and serene to spend time in. Walking distance to Salamander Bay Shopping Centre. Merilyn and Bruce cannot do enough for their visitors making you very welcome. We will go back for sure! 🥰🥰
The location at Salamander Bay Horizons Golf course is fantastic, close to water, shops and our friends. Peaceful location, quiet, until our kids were playing outside 😉 Unit very clean and well appointed, 8 beds plus a fold out sofa and spare mattresses! Comfortable space to relax and share time with friends and family
The location is ideal, quiet and relaxing with an unbeatable outlook against the golf course. The property is in close proximity to Salamander Bay Shopping Centre, short drive into Nelson Bay, and short drive to Soldiers Point, giving you many options.
It is a wonderful resort in Port Stephens with the largest pool on the Southern Hemisphere. The rooms were big, comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. The heated private plunge pool was fantastic.
The Lagoon pool is amazing and a great draw card for families. The apartment was spacious. The restaurant and bar served nice food and drinks. All the hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was excellent, comfy with everything we needed. We were told that the hotel was undergoing renovations, (which they were), but they never interfered with our stay in any way.
The apartment and hotel were both fantastic, we’ve stayed in other rooms at this hotel before and we always love it but having the private pool was a massive hit with the kids.
Loved the pool, I booked a hotel room but was offered an upgrade for extra $9 per night to Studio Logoon view was amazing. Room was the perfect size bed so comfy.
