What a gem this place is! We had apartment 6 upstairs (Queen room) for three nights Location is amazing, literally a two minute walk to multiple cafes, bakery, pub with bistro, fish and chips, a small but very well stocked store, a lovely park with a children's splash park and playground opposite and water on both sides of the property. Our room was double in size to what I was expecting, well stocked with kitchen gear, a huge bathroom with shower and spa, a couch, four chairs and table, balcony overlooking the splash park and the apartment was spotless. We loved the secure parking at the rear of the motel and the pool in the middle of the bbq area was very well received by the multiple families that were staying. For the last 15 years we have stayed in Lakes Entrance however after finding this accomodation we would be hard pressed to be convinced to go anywhere else. Metung is laid back, family friendly and while there is not a "beach" the lake feel and over all more relaxed and small town vibe more than makes up for it. Good walks with lots to see, great bird life and lots of boats to sit and watch. We loved our trip to Metung Waters Motel and will 100% be back, with the rest of our large family!

I was happy to tick this one off my bucket list and it did not disappoint. It is a quiet hamlet with enough dining options to be interesting but not much else to keep you interested. The recreation choices are pretty limited especially if you're not a fisherman. The walk along the waterfront was pleasant, and we were thrilled to find a second route along Beach Road which took us to another marina and up a steep hill to the back of the spa centre. Close enough to Lakes Entrance for a drive and to pick up more specific provisions.SSusanAustralia - 10Scored 10

There is absolutely nothing negative to say about metung , it’s a beautiful little hamlet , quiet , peaceful and lots of bird life in the area , If u enjoy walking and just being around water it’s perfect , the only negative is that the after hours food choices are limited like a pizza place and a pub are ur choices , however , u can cook up a bbq or supply ur own food from a very high priced little general store , better to pre stock before y come into the town ,if planning on a few days there

Metung is a beautiful secluded village with stunning marina, charming shops, beautiful views, fabulous food and super friendly locals welcoming us to town at all our interactions. We enjoyed total relaxation at the Metung Hot Springs, having been to the Peninsula Hot Springs, we were keen to visit the East Gippsland version - be aware this is a big venture under construction and does not have the full number of hot pools as does the Peninsula version; but don't let that hold you back ! While there are less pools, it is definitely worth your time for the relaxation and to support this fabulous development. We loved our meals at Cafe Chez Joe, delicious Beef Rendang and our dinner at the Metung Hotel, freshest seafood and beautiful views. They were 'booked out', but we wandered in at 7.15 and we were provided a table straight away. The market was filled with talent, the bakery had some lovely fare and The Local has delicious pizza and a great array of the best salads. We stayed in lovely accommodation in a natural bushy environment. The water front accommodation looks fabulous - maybe next time, however we were super happy with our accommodation at Gilly's Guesthouse and we will definitely return to Gilly's and to Metung!AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Nice cosy place away from all the hustle and bustle. Beautiful scenery, lovely place to watch sunset. Highly recommend Metung Hot Springs, a piece of heaven that is so good for the soul. We loved the serenity and the natural atmosphere, the Hotsprings were so relaxing and the Glamping tents were definitely glam! Beautifully designed with mixture of modern and rustic elements, bed was amazingly comfortable, wanted to take it home! We had a lovely time, the welcome packs and nibbles/drinks were nice as was the delivery of breakfast in the morning. Definitely will come back again.

A very relaxing and peaceful place. Great walk from accommodation along the boardwalk into town where we had a delicious meal at the Metung Hotel and breakfast at the local cafe. Food and drinks at both places were amazing.
