We went at the start of the dry season.
We went at the start of the dry season. The weather was very warm but still humid. Cairns central has great public facilities. The swimming lagoon is fantastic for all ages and has surf lifesavers in attendance. BBQ cookers all along the Esplanade, excellent playgrounds. Muddy Waters in particular, the kids went crazy. Of course you go for the reef trips and the train trip and the Skyrail up to Kuranda village. A lovely day out in beautiful rainforest. Port Douglas and Mossman are a drive north if you have the time, they are another must see in this scenic part of north Queensland. A drive up onto the Tablelands opens up a different part of the area. Natural and historical attractions. It's worth the drive.RobynAustralia - 4.0Scored 4.0

A worn and sadly lacking site. It has all the hallmarks of investors who rake in the money but don't spend any money or maintenance and improvements. They could raise their star rating if they cared to invest in renovation., The lady at the front desk was very friendly;y. There is little opportunity to interact with people outside of those in our circle of the delegation, including the hosts and those slotted in the program, during that trip. Excellent location. You may not need a rented car if you stay in the central location. We stayed here for 5 days. Went to Great Barrier Reef, Green Island, Used the sky rail to go to Kurandra and came back by Scenic Rail. Brilliant clean pool in apartment. We did Kuranda tour the train to the top of mountain and the cable car over the rainforest/ Green Island tour, where we enjoyed the glass bottom boat, snorkelling, and seeing the large crocodile that was recovering from an injury on the island. We also did Daintree crocodile river tour and we saw 3 crocodiles, went swiming in Rossman Gorge. The tours were fantastic and so was Cairns, we had the holiday of a life time. Thankyou to everyone for the wonderful tours.

I wasn't too keen, it was a humid sweatbox and I didn't feel particularly safe at night walking the streets. Plenty to do activity wise during the day. The Croc Bar was the best bit. $10 steak & fires. Night market is just tat and the food places within the night market aren't great. Decent-ish night-life and the drinks are cheaper than the big city's.

The staff were attentive and ordered my taxi to the airport for me( day prior uber and taxi delays) so they assisted me. I had to check out at 10.00am and they safely stored my luggage for me and allowed me the luxury of a shower prior to my flight at 8pm that night. Location is approximatley 1.5 blocks away from the main restaurants along the esplanade - but it proves for a quiet stay.SarahAustralia

A great studio apartment that was exceptionally clean and well equipped for any level of self catering if needed. The Nespresso machine was an added bonus. Located just minutes from Cairns Central shopping centre and the Cairns railway station. An easy ten to fifteen minute walk and we were on the waterfront where there are lots of great restaurants.
