Now, we were there for work, and I managed to get sick, so I missed out on a few attractions, but Coona seems like a nice, friendly town. My family managed to get to see one of the observatories, and see some of the planets in real life, including Saturn's rings, so they were absolutely stoked. Apparently a new telescope will be operating there soon, with even better views.

After a day of motorcycling in the cold, wet, windy weather, Grace welcomed us into her beautiful restored cottage home. Our beds were warm and very comfortable, we cooked bacon and fresh eggs from the backyard chooks for breakfast in the well appointed kitchen, and chatting with Grace was like staying with your favourite aunt. We will be back! Lovely home, central location, fabulous host, off street parking, wonderful breakfast and warm beds with the best doona ever! Thanks Grace, we all loved staying in your home and visiting Coonabarabran.

Convenient location on north western side of Coonabarabran to continue my journey north to Brisbane. The lovely lady at the reception was friendly and check-in took only a minute. The room was comfortable and very quiet, there was no noise from the highway after dark (I had been concerned that the trucks might be noisy at night; however, the traffic was very minimal after sunset)

The room was a good size, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was functional. Access and parking was very good. Although there are not many restaurants in town they are all an easy walk from the hotel and local food was very good. There is a large Woolworths shop within 500 meters from the hotel and the National Park is an easy drive away.

Despite the central location, The Imperial Hotel was very quiet at night. The rooms are minimalistic but comfortable - including the bed. The water pressure and shower head in the shower was good. The lounge area and kitchen was a nice touch - including a large fridge for storage.
