We had a beautiful stay at Forest Cottage — peaceful, cozy, and everything we needed. Jessica was a lovely and attentive host. The breakfast supplies were generous, the bed incredibly comfy, and we loved the fireplace (with all firewood provided!). The area around the cottage offers plenty of options for hiking, cycling, scenic lookouts, and reconnecting with nature. Everything was clean, well maintained, and full of thoughtful details — from a delicious house-made liqueur to a well-stocked minibar. Olinda is a lovely place to stay or visit. My husband and I had dinner at King Henry’s Restaurant which was close by and had a lovely family lunch at The Pig & Whistle Tavern which was also very close to our accommodation. Loved the SkyHigh observatory and Cloudhill gardens - and the botanic garden- plus the Olinda Tea house was excellent. Central location to visit all the gardens scattered around Olinda and areas of interest- loved sassafras which like Olinda had some unique stores - highly recommend Olinda as a central spot to allow one to explore this gorgeous area :) Lots of things to do for varied interests such as trails and even visiting Puffing Billy in Emerald - and Kallista Tea house plus much more :)Guest review byNorishaAustralia - 10.0
A great location, just a short drive from the other villages...
A great location, just a short drive from the other villages in the region. Good restaurants were the Pig & Whistle and House of Fras, however our absolute favourite eating spot was Proserpina Bakehouse. The food in this bakehouse is exceptional! Arrive hungry and consider their chai tea (it's an amazing experience)! Many easy walking tracks within a short drive, with excellent views of Melbourne. Botanical Gardens is also worth a visit - we saw an echidna in the wild here.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
