The hotel is nicely located along the Colonnade near the train station but also offers garage parking underneath. Wellness facilities are located inside the hotel itself on the first and fourth floors. The pool, saunas and carbonated baths were excellent. The masseurs and bath attendants were friendly and helpful as were the rest of the staff. The breakfast bufet was also very good.

It is one of more modern style spas (100 years old only) in the Czechia and easy to access by train from Prague. Great for cycling, because it is mostly flat land and routes available along the rivers. There also historical landmarks from the time before the spa. Nice park and 8 freely available mineral springs (April-October). You can take a boat ride as a full trip or only one-way (to Nymburk and get back by train or to the merge of rivers Elbe and Cidlina). It is good for small children too, there are some fine playgrounds, but only two are near the historical part, rest is in the north of the town (across the railway). Other interesting spots for a trip (by a car) are available from here (for example Kutná Hora).

I found very little of interest (the castle museum was closed). It's just an ordinary town with a nice square. I ate in the Trattoria where the waitress spoke good English and where they serve a decent pizza and good grappa.

We could park conveniently within the castle walls for a small fee. We used the staff recommendations for a dinner out to our great satisfaction. Although I wish I had had a room facing the park, which is one of the loveliest I have ever seen, mine had a terrace with lounge chairs. (Unfortunately, it rained throughout most of my stay.) Cucina has to be one of the best restaurants in the Czech Republic, although it is expensive. The chefs are skilled and accommodating. The waiters are attentive and kind.
