1. Central Location. Just right outside Koln Hansaring Station, which is one stop away from Koln Central Station. Everything is near. Major attractions, Restaurants, Shopping Area, etc.
2. Big & Spacious room. This was my first experience having such a huge hotel room in Europe in this budget category.
3. I requested a Quiet Room but I was given a corner room at the 2nd floor very close to the streets & train. Surprisingly, the sound proofing is good and I didn't hear anything outside.
4. Staff is friendly and helpful beyond expectation.

Founded by the Romans in 38 BC and idyllically located on the Rhine River, Cologne offers the perfect blend of historical and modern Germany. There’s no place more picturesque to drink a Kolsch beer and eat a schnitzel than on the banks of the River Rhine. Here you’ll find the Altstad, or Old Town, with the impressive Cologne Dom on the skyline.
Visitors to Cologne in November can dance the days away at the Carnival Parade. In December, no trip to Cologne’s magical Christmas markets is complete without a steaming mug of Gluhwein.
The charm extends to other seasons as well, thanks to the medieval wonders of the Cologne Cathedral and the Twelve Romanesque churches. Learn about the city’s history at the Roman-Germanic Museum or take a postmodern approach at Museum Ludwig. Whether historic or culinary, a trip to the Chocolate Museum can complete any tour.

Cologne was the first place in Germany I had visited 30 years ago. I fell in love with the city then and I still feel the same about it now. I was here this time for a trade fair and it was a great trip with new connections made. It has everything you need. Excellent city.

A cool city that you should definitely visit.
A cool city that you should definitely visit. But be careful when booking hotels, do your research carefully. The same one and I ended up with what I believe are scammers. We traveled in April 2024, and found an inexpensive hotel Downtown Ehrenfeld on booking.
1 night in Cologne
booked a room. check-in after 16.00 - approx. I received a message from the booking office that bed linen is not included in the price, but you can pay an additional 10 euros per set and get.... well, okay, on the road, we won’t change anything, we’ll take it extra....
We arrived at 17.00 and discovered there was no bedding. At the reception we said we need bedding, we are ready to pay extra, they suggested we call Mr. Otto. They gave me a phone number. Ok, let's hurry to see the city, then we'll call you when we get back. We returned at 22.00 - tomorrow we will continue on. We call Mr. Otto - and the answer is: a room without linen, it’s your problem that you don’t have bed linen with you, I can’t help you, but you’ll be indignant and call the police. - this is the result of the conversation... they spat, went to the room, put a jacket under their head, and without undressing went to bed early in the morning on the road. We just started to fall asleep, we hear in the next room they come in and, finding themselves in the same situation, try to resolve the issue with the bed linen and, having received the same thing in response, people did not want to put up with it, turned around, spat on the lost money and left. In the morning we left with an impression of the contrasting city of Cologne - I did not expect that in 2024, in Germany, you could run into such deception of customers. Conclusion - don’t relax, otherwise.....

The city has a lot of roman history and it is well known for its amazing cathedral and the nice view of the cathedral and the Hohenzollern bridge.
It's not a big city so you can visit the most important places (excluding museums) in a day and you don't really need to be taking trains to move around. The city center and the surroundings are quite beautiful: Alter markt, Heumarkt, the river itself and the visits from the "Cologne triangle" building.
Also a nice walk is: from the city center through Schildergasse street (shoping street) go to Neumarkt and then Rudolfplatz where you can visit the roman door.
An interesting neighbourhood to visit is Ehrenfeld where you can take nice pictures related to modern art, graffiti, etc.
If you plan to visit some museums, I would recommend "NS-Documentation Center" (for those interested in the WW2 history), the Cathedral's treasury rooms and the Ludwig Museum.
There are also other interesting museums, like the chocolate's musems (rather overrated in my opinion), the mustard museum and the "Kölnisches Stadtmuseum" (the last one being a nice building with a "Ford fiesta" on the roof.
If you have more time to spend on the city, visit the zoom, the flora gardens, some parks, etc. There is also a big therme named "Claudius Therme".
With the train you can also visit some nices places not too far away: Bonn, Düsseldorf, Aachen or Königswinter are well worth a visit.
Also, check out for events taking place in the Kölnmesse.

Cologne is very friendly to visitors and great to walk...
Cologne is very friendly to visitors and great to walk around. The River Rhine is very close and a lovely place to wander along or sit along the banks. The streets in Old Town are easy to navigate once you get used to the layout and there are always hidden gems around each corner. Lots of street cafes and bars to chose from, the public transport is brilliant and lots of helpful staff to answer questions. It was a pleasure to visit Cologne and is definitely a place to return to one day.
Large room and a nice comfortable bed.
Breakfast was more than ample with cooked sausages and bacon etc and a good selection of cereals, breads and cheeses.
Location was brilliant as it was two minutes from Hansaring Station that is then just one stop from Cologne Central Station. Their are plenty of restaurants and bars very close to this hotel and a bit cheaper than going right into the city centre.
We would definitely stay again.
Perfect for the final day of a long Germany trip where we needed convenient access for a morning train and to the tourist sites. Rooms are a little small but clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast was on point with the basics all available. Friendly staff got us into one of our two rooms when we arrived by train 11am, so we were able to stow the luggage and begin enjoying the city. Bonus: many rooms have a view of the Dom.
"It's a charming boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the city. Within a short 5-minute stroll, you'll find yourself amidst all the shops and bars. The hotel staff are incredibly warm and accommodating (even waiting for us despite our late arrival). The rooms boast delightful decor, complete with complimentary slippers and a bottle of water. This hotel comes highly recommended!"
The breakfast was fantastic. Anything you may want for breakfast was available. The hotel is only a 3 minutes walk from the train station. Many of the attractions of Cologne are very close and you can easily walk to them. Another real plus was the front desk is staffed 24 hours. You can leave your room key with them and pick it up when you return.
The room was totally enough, cozy and newly renovated. The hotel is located just in the downtown close to Dom and many restaurants. I didn´t use breakfast in the hotel. But I can fully recommended Lint Hotel to everybody traveling to Cologne. I was really suprised with the place and area and that is so close to everything important.
All in all, it was the perfect hotel for a weekend stay in Cologne. The room was very clean and comfortable. I really liked the bathroom!
I can't really rate the staff since there is nearly none - you have to do the check-in yourself. However, instructions are easy and very clear, we had no problems with that. We will come back!
I was extremely surprised by how clean the hotel was and how modern it looked. I came for the concert which was next door at the Palladium and this was the best choice of accommodation. It is not in the city centre, but it is easily reachable as the stations are pretty close.
Hotel is on Cologne Main Station concourse so ideal for someone arriving into Cologne very late at night or leaving early. Due to train problems in Germany I arrived very late so spent very little time there, but check-in was 24/7 and easy enough, and my room was clean.
Excellent hotel for our overnight stay in Cologne. Clean room, good breakfast and friendly staff. Very close to the main station but on a side street so there was very little traffic noise. We would certainly recommend this hotel.
Location, landscape from the window, staff, breakfast and the owner are perfect! style and hotel designe are so unique and impressive. paintings are lovely. I'd definitely stay there if i come to Cologne again. Thanks guys!
Really loved the hotel, it was very clean, air conditioning was good, location was excellent, close to everything. The beds were extremely comfortable. If I ever come back to cologne, this is where I’m staying.
Beautiful modern base apartment (down stairs)
Very good location, next to the metro station line 5
In 25 minutes down town Cologne Germany.
Free car parking and close by supermarket Lidl.
The staff was extremely friendly and attentive.
The hotel is close to the city centre, to major museums and the Cologne cathedral. Also next to the Rhine. Has nice comfortable rooms.
Location is good...walking distance to Cologne Station. Asian staff of the hotel were congenial and warm but the European staff were not that warm & nice!
