Fun and Sun on the Costa Brava
A vibrant Costa Brava resort at the foot of mountains, Lloret de Mar has fabulous beaches and plenty to do for all ages. Carrer de Sant Pere leading inland from the beach has lots of international brands shopping and exclusive jewellers. The town also has excellent nightlife, with a wealth of restaurants, bars and one of the Costa Brava’s biggest casinos.
For a taste of culture, the Verdaguer Centre has relics from the Iberian settlement of Puig de Castellet dating to 250 BC.
Just north is Water World, one of Europe’s biggest waterparks, while offshore watersports include diving, snorkelling and sea kayaking. Lloret de Mar also offers go-karts and a few golf courses.
In the center of town are Booking.com’s selection of guest houses, apartments and hotels with pools, while high-rise Lloret de Mar hotels face the town’s 2 beaches – Fenals and Lloret. The latter has a long, tree-lined promenade ending at one of the craggy coves typical of this coastline. The walk up to the cliffs is worth it for the views over the town and Mediterranean Sea.
As Lloret de Mar is only around a 30 minute drive from Girona Airport, it’s not long before you can dip your toes in the water.

It was very good during a day, but I wasn't impressed with the night life. Many people say it is just right for teenagers and students, but all that seemed to me miserable. There were a lot of nice people there, but also a lot of people that look very suspicious and you have to behave very carefully, because you can become very easily victim of pickpocketing. There is a lot a lot of green scenery there and good possibilities for recreative activities, but as I said not all people look trustworthy.Guest review byIgor - 10.0

Lloret de Mar was better than I expected in many regards, people and residents friendly and helpful with foreigners, a large choice of shops , boutiques , supermarkets , convenience stores and cafes, bars and restaurants of different price range.A beautiful town Hall , church and even cattle. a coach station inside the town centre plus everything you need and more.Lloret de Mar was lively and a prettier town than I expected.Guest review byArmelle - 10.0

Something for everyone . Loved the boat trips available . Bars cater for 18 to 80 . Fun for everyone . What I didn't like was the hard sell for people to use the Gala nightclub. The lad was quite rude when I politely refused . No other club or bar were pushy along the strip except this place . I was warned by a woman staying at the hotel when I arrived it was a sleazy place and not to bother with it. A great place to visit.
A great place to visit. If eating out try to find restaurants that have good reviews. Getting around is easy and there is a local bus station if you want to visit other places. It is the diamond in the slightly tawdry jewel that is Lloret de Mar. We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely old villa on the hilltop overlooking the sea. The interior, the exterior and the setting are classical old world Spain. The staff were all terrific and we really enjoyed dinner in the restaurant as well as the excellent breakfast.
