FAQs about hotels in Marbella

Home of the Beautiful People

The most exclusive Costa del Sol resort, Marbella is the standard for beaches and beautiful people. Expensive yachts line the marinas here and in nearby Puerto Banús, where exotic cars outnumber sedans. It also has the best clubs, as well as designer stores and trendy seafood restaurants. Be on the look out for the celebrities that vacation here or live along the Golden Mile, home to only the most extravagant villas and Marbella hotels.

Marbella beaches stretch over 16 miles, all set against the backdrop of spectacular mountains, best viewed from a boat. It is even possible to spot a dolphin. The beaches at Puerto Banús and San Pedro Alcántara are Blue Flag beaches, while the most popular are Venus and La Fontanilla in the center of town. Artola Beach also has protected dunes.

Attractions in Marbella include 10 Dalí sculptures on Avenida del Mar, and the cobbled Old Town streets lined with colourful Andalusian-style houses. Picturesque Orange Square has sidewalk cafes under the shade of orange trees, and nearby are ruins of a Moorish castle and the 16th-century town walls.

Other pursuits include horseracing at the Hipodromo Costa del Sol, and the area’s golf courses, including one designed by national hero Seve Ballesteros.

Malaga Airport is the nearest and Booking.com has a great range of accommodations in Marbella and the surrounding villages.

The location was perfect. we had stayed in that complex previously and being right on the beach was brilliant The apartment was well-equipped and very comfortable. We ate more in the old town which was great. Getting around is easy- walking or cycling is the best answer. The not so good news was communication. There was no information provided with the keys. We didn't get the password for the internet until halfway through the holiday. The agent didn't answer their phone and was very slow to respond. Most bizarrely it seems we still haven't paid! Despite card details on booking.com. The agent asked us to go to the office to pay and was not there. Said she would provide bank details and never did, I am sure there is an explanation but it is an experience we never have had before. We are still happy to pay!

I chose Marbella as we hadn't stayed there before, being furtherSouth the climate was warmer, it didn't disappoint! there were 2 days of (much needed) rain at the end. We stayed very close to "Orange Square", a truly delightful area, full of small shops, eating places and history. There were many tourists visiting the area, (coach parties) which simply added to the vibe. We found the municipal market, great for fresh fish! We walked all around, there is the castle, parks, and beaches. Busses are cheap to get around. On our return we had a direct coach from the bus station (top of Marbella) to the airport for 6 Euros each!! Plenty of restaurants. Yes, a few homeless people, yes young African men selling items on street. pavements

We stayed in the old town great spot for a short break, we loved Marbella but wouldn't want to visit in high season. Avoid the really touristy tapas bars and restaurants on the main streets, tapas looks great but it is made in the morning and reheated in microwaves, go somewhere where it's made fresh by wandering around we found a lovely tapas bar in a small square Tasca de Santi in plaza Jose palomo, food and service was wonderful, but there are plenty of other little bars and restaurants you know they are good if they are full of the locals. The beach and promenade area was lovely too very clean and in in early November still warm enough for a swim in the sea.

Marbella is a beautiful beach town but considerably more expensive than nearby cities like Malaga as it is considered quite posh. If you are visiting Costa del Sol, it is a good idea to stop by Marbella to enjoy the beautiful old town but it is not a must to stay. A day trip is sufficient.

I liked the idea of naming the buildings after Spain cities, the parking is very nice with an access very close to the rooms lift. The staff in the reception desk was very friendly especially Jalal, he helped me with directions, finding water to drink late in the night, and with lending us adapter for EU electric system to charge our phones. The location of the hotel is amazing, easy access to the main street, close to the beach and also near many nice restaurants and supermarket. Michas gracias, Saleh from Kuwait

The hotel staff could not have been nicer. They were so helpful and pleasant. The hotel location is just about perfect. A two-minute stroll to the old town, and a ten minute stroll to the beach. The rooms are dated, but spacious and clean with good air conditioning. Bed linen and bathroom towels are changed daily. Our room overlooked the old 9th-century castle. The breakfast was good. Great coffee. Very good value for accommodation and breakfast when you consider how pricey Marbella can be.

Marta is fantastic - I can’t say it enough!! Marta communicated with us before we arrived to prepare our requests and set our expectations about the location, and she bent over backwards to help get our rental car fixed, give us recommends on places to visit and eat at, and always looked after us. The location of the hotel can’t be beat (especially for the price)… right in the middle of Old Town Marbella and next to fantastic restaurants, all without getting noisy at night.

A beautiful boutique hotel full of character. Location is a bit remote which we found wonderfully peaceful. The hotel had no restaurant for evening dinner but the owner Silvana arranged transport to restaurants in Marbella at a very reasonable cost, as we were without car. Drinks are available though, as are some light meals if you want to stay in. Breakfast was excellent. Silvana and her staff were extremely helpful.

The location was fantastic as we are walkers and gave us option of walking to Marbella centre or Puerto Banus. Hotel very near waterfront.
