This traditional late Victorian mid-terrace cottage is a perfect, practical base for exploring the fells, the Lakes and the west coast or for a work stay.
I enjoy going for easy walks in the Lake District and talking to the alpacas up the road. Love dogs, so your own well behaved dog is welcome. Sadly we lost our own black lab at the grand age of 18. Please message me for if there are any concerns during your stay.
Set on the main street of this village, just walk a few yards for views of the stunning Lake District fells and a five to ten minute walk will take you to an alpaca farm, footpath with striking views and the coast to coast cycle path. A 10-15 minute drive will take you to Ennerdale Water or a 20 minute drive to St Bees beach. While not the quaintest of Lakeland villages and situated just outside the national park, it has chip shop, a Spar mini supermarket and post office plus a bus stop a few yards away directly to Whitehaven and along the coast. The no.30 bus goes directly to Cleator Moor then into Whitehaven (where there is a train station for Carlisle) and along the coast towards Maryport. Parking is free on street and spaces can be found on side streets around the property.
