The cottage is idyllic. It's actually very spacious and easily accommodated our family. The garden was the perfect place for an early morning coffee. Absolute bliss... no noise except for bird song and bees. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked - plenty quality pots, pans, etc. Everything is spotlessly clean. Winchelsea itself is an ideal base for some walking/running/swimming - the circular walk to Rye was an ideal way to sped Saturday morning. To top it all, the hosts left Easter eggs for us - what a kind gesture. THANK YOU.

April Cottage is a pretty rustic 3 bed house in the quiet town of Winchelsea. There are 2 king-sized bedrooms and a smaller room with 2 single beds or we join these together into another king-sized bed for a third couple. There are two reception areas downstairs. It has a patio and BBQ as well as a secluded lawn at the back of the garden. it is well situated to explore the area. East Sussex is one of the most beautiful counties in the UK. Winchelsea itself dates back to medieval times and is still very quiet and quaint. There are lovely walks going out from the front door. Further afield you can visit Rye and Hastings which have both become much more vibrant and interesting in the last 5-10 years There is a shingle beach 5 min drive away, Rye is 7 mins, Camber Sands 16 mins and Hasting 20 mins. The house information pack gives details on interesting places to for all ages. There are some high quality food shops and you can get fantastic local vegetables, meat, and fish within a few minutes drive of the house. If you want to eat out it's everything from fish and chips, cafes on the beach, local dining in the village pub and other pubs in the area. There are restaurants in Rye, Hastings and surrounding areas to cover most tastes - I give some of my favourites in the house guide
Hi I am an eternally young optimistic pessimist. Love meeting new people and engaging with them and the world. Becoming a host has been a great step so far. I've tried to set the house up as I like to find a property myself. So we leave useful things like tea, coffee, sugar, oil salt and pepper herbs etc for guests to use,. I'm mad about cooking so I hope you'll find the kitchen pretty well equipped. Any questions please get in touch. Richard
Parking is on street directly opposite the cottage. Invariably 2 spaces free. Very rarely you might have to park slightly up the road. Limited bus service between Rye and Hastings with the bus stop about a 5 minute drive away. Winchelsea station is a five minute drive
