Locatie perfect, met wandelingen vanaf het huisje zelf. Huisje zelf gezellig, en karakteristiek. Prachtige omgeving, en veel pubs in de wijde omgeving. Bedden heel goed, badkamers ook prima (tip: ik miste ophangmogelijkheden voor de handdoeken). In de keuken van alles voorradig (behalve bierglazen), inclusief espressoapparaat. Fijne tuin met uitzicht!

A traditional cottage set within the Ashdown Forest, Bellflower Cottage is a delightful country retreat full of charm and character.

Neighborhood info

Bellflower Cottage lies to the north of Horsted Keynes village and is set in the beautiful rolling landscape of the Sussex Weald. The village itself is a mile south east of the Bluebell Railway station. Right beside the station at Sheffield Park, Sheffield Park Garden is a magnificent informal landscape garden laid out in the 18th century by Capability Brown. The Ashdown Forest stretches over 1400 acres and is immediately due north of Bellflower Cottage. It was made famous by the stories about Pooh Bear. The forest offers extensive bridleways for both walkers and cyclists, with magnificent views that draw the eye south and south east towards the South Downs. To the west, Wakehurst Place is the National Trust’s most visited place and home to the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. Five miles to the north you will find Standen, which is hidden at the end of a quiet Sussex lane and has breathtaking views over the High Weald and Weirwood Reservoir. The design of the house is a monument to the combined genius of architect Philip Webb and his friend William Morris. Beach 25 miles.
