It was beautifully decorated - lots of individual style with everything you might want but not too crowded. Real character in the building, maximised by the decorative style.
It was a great location - lovely views (the A40 is in the distance but we quickly got used to that), a quiet street but super close to the town centre and all its amenities.
I'm not used to parking on a hill but even though we came at high season I was always able to drop passengers off opposite the door and then park downhill on the flat.
Plenty of kitchen equipment.
Everything very clean and very fresh.
Ross itself is full of character. I've never seen so independents. There are also plenty of lovely things to do a short drive away (I didn't check out public transport).

Cute little building from the outside.
I liked the view to the church across the field.
Appreciated the night lights outside to guide from the parking space to the door.
Pleased to see the owner had read and acted on most of the feedback points.
The heater was very quick at heating the space as it was a chilly night during my stay.
Plenty of cleaning products, towels etc.
Allowed me to check in 45 minutes earlier.
Generally ok.

A good selection of independent shops and restaurants. Good views over the Wye valley and a small friendly theatre. Relatively unspoilt.

Rather disappointed.
Rather disappointed. Town looked tired and had seen better days. Difficult to walk along the river for all the bushes. Having said that, it did rain every day and nowhere looks good unless the sun shines

Lovely little town with fascinating architecture and some wonderful views over the River Wye and the valley. The locals were very welcoming. We went in to the church, and although a service was just about to start the vicar went out of his way to make us welcome.
A perfectly located retreat with a first class restaurant in which to enjoy the evening.
From arrival to departure, the owners and staff made me feel very at home and the service level delivered on the promise of this lovely hotel.
My room had great views across the apple orchard at the front of the hotel and I enjoyed my stay, albeit one night only. Will definitely return and thoroughly recommend a stay for business or pleasure.
The hotel is tastefully decorated with a lovely area to relax and have a drink. There is also a beautiful garden with a superb view of the river Wye, countryside, and the church in Ross on Wye.
The breakfast was high quality set in an exquisite dining room, and the hosts were very friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble.
Good off the road parking at the rear of the property.
The innkeeper Andy and his wife Sophie were very kind and accommodating- they allowed my mum and her dog to join me on short notice for the second night of my stay, and were present on both arrival and departure to help with the tight parking situation - in the rain no less! Very kind people taking good care of their guests. Sophie's breakfasts were fab as were the nearby nature walks.
Orles Barn is an exceptional hotel. Roxy and Matt are the nicest, kindest people you will ever meet. The food (Matt is the chef) is quite simply the best I've tasted in any hotel anywhere! You will be treated like royalty at the hands of Roxy, who is such a warm and genuine person. I LOVE staying here and cannot recommend Orles Barn highly enough.
The location of the Hotel is great and the hotel is welcoming and friendly. The meal at the hotel was one of the best we have had and the breakfast was excellent. We will be returning in the spring for a two night stay to celebrate a birthday. Ross is a short walk away - with lovely shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you.
Accommodation was fine, just what we were expecting. Would have liked to know about the road closure, all the signs were saying business open as usual, not knowing where the hotel was compared to the road closure, we had a very disgruntled local saying we shouldn't be at the closure. The detour was not good for a small sports car.
Fabulous hosts with a warm welcome. Perfectly located within easy walking distance to the the town centre, great selection for breakfast. Great room with super-comfortable bed. Pet friendly with wonderful large gardens and riverside pub across the road.
The parking was great, immediately outside the property. Joy, the host was charming and very welcoming. We slept well. We had a really good meal at the Royal Hotel, just a short walk away, see 3 photos of views from outside terrace - can recommend!!
We arrived late-2 a.m.- after reception had closed. We were to gain access to the room late on-very clean and well made up-A row of rooms opposite to main hotel across the car park. Breakfast in the morning was a very good full English breakfast
The location could not be better. Two minutes walk from the town centre which had good variety of shops stores eating and drinking venues. The river side was one minute away with a bar that served good quality food and reasonable priced drinks
Breakfast was excellent felt sorry for the staff having to run up and down stairs serving food. Location was very good as the town 300 yards away just as it was uphill from hotel other than that position great also over looking the river.
