The staff at the pub offered us a free breakfast at the end of our stay on realising our hot tub had not worked during our stay and we had no hot water on the last day. However we declined this offer due to already having bought our own food for the self catering apartment and did not want to throw this away (food waste). We were told the manager would contact us regarding this and unfortunately we have had no contact.

The room is very spacious and cosy , the bathroom is very clean , They serve a very good English breakfast , with fresh Coffee and tea. We had three dinners in there, both were delicious and tasty. The bar area feels homely with fires on.

It was ideal location for us visiting relative in village. Breakfast was great and had good choice. Room and en suite were good.

The countryside and roads around Torver are stunning, there are vistas all around. It is ideally situated for hiking etc. The village itself is little more than a linear collection of houses, with one pub and one deli. This isn't an issue as Coniston is a short drive away and features all the shops you could realistically need. If walking, expect around a 1.5 to 2 hour round trip.
The main road through the village is a 40mph zone, however some of the locals do like to put their foot down, and some of their vehicles can be quite noisy, so it was not always as quiet as we had assumed it would be, however this didn't significantly impact our enjoyment of staying in Torver. Overall it is a great location from which to enjoy the Lake District.

This was our second stay here and it didn't disappoint.
This was our second stay here and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful location, great pub and friendly locals. Food here is spectacular but if you fancy a change there is The Blacksmiths Arms about 20 minute drive away. Very oldie worldy but again the food is totally worth it; the lamb is to die for. Another is the Ship Inn on the way into Coniston village. Proper pie served here not the flaky pastry lids you get in most other pubs. Travel wise you do need the car but then there is a nice 7-8 mile round trip walk down to coniston water, into the village then back up into Torver

The cottage was clean and bed comfortable.
The cottage was clean and bed comfortable. No hot water or heating. No one answering phone, so not able to get it fixed.
Hot tub in upstairs apartment very noisy all the time.
No one dealing with issues. Being promised that I’d be contacted and then being ignored.
Could have been so different if I’d been contacted.
Dealing with complaints is essential in a successful business.

Torver is not much more than a T junction but it is a beautiful area and footpaths will take you down to Coniston water and along to Coniston or up into the hills. There are two pubs / restaurants but only The Wilsons / Wilson’s Arms was open when we stayed there and they also operate a small deli shop.

The Church House Inn is small hotel near Coniston, a very clean and well presented hotel it's the perfect location for exploring the local area.
The rooms are from the 14th century with modern decor, comfy beds and excellent ensuite rooms, a hotel full of character.
It also has camping next door for those with Motorhomes, caravans and tenting.
The staff are super friendly and welcoming.
Great value for money, I will certainly stay here again.
Fantastic breakfast cooked to order each day, good selection.
Room was extremely comfortable with a beautiful new bathroom and well stocked toiletries and tea tray.
Parking easy, just a few minutes drive into Coniston or the other way into Torver.
Wonderful host, Stuart could have not done enough for me, extremely hospitable, thank you.
The location. Close to Coniston Water and a few minutes drive to Windermere. Bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately the weather was very bad so couldn't avail of the hot tub. Food at the Hotel was very very nice and reasonably priced.
