Located in Ainstable, we are midway between Border City Of Carlisle, 19 km, and Gateway to the Lake District market town of Penrith, 21 km. With castles in both Penrith and Carlisle, these destinations are very well worth a visit. We offer a beautifully appointed apartment set in the lush landscape of the Eden Valley, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Designed with comfort and style in mind, with cosy furnishings, modern amenities, built in 2023. We offer self catering with two ensuite bedrooms, both super king beds, with one room able to alter to twin beds with prior notice. If needed for a child, there is a sofa bed in the lounge area. Free wi-fi available with flat screen smart tv's in both bedrooms and seating area. Directly outside is your own private patio with seating area and BBQ. We are dog friendly with fenced area of our field to play. Private parking directly by own front door, all ground floor.
My husband Dennis and I look forward to welcoming you to our perfect country retreat. We live next to the apartment. Architect designed, the property was completed in 2023. In our surrounding field we have our rare breed Ouissant Sheep, and pet hens laying wonderful fresh eggs. We ourselves have a labrador and two Dandy Dinmont Terriers, and the boss, Buster the cat! Part of our field is fenced providing a safe play area for children and dogs alike. Outside you will find your own terrace and BBQ area. With the Lake District, River Eden, Hadrian's Wall, Talkin Tarn, Alston, Brampton and the North Pennines close by, like us, you will enjoy exploring our beautiful valley.
Set in the heart of the Eden Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our area is very popular with walkers, cyclists, canoeists, golfers and motorcyclists (we are very close to the Coast to Coast Route). Midway between the border city of Carlisle with a magnificent cathedral, castle and Tulie House Museum & Art Gallery featuring the cities tumultuous history, and market town of Penrith the gateway to the Lake District National Park. The nearby Hadrian's Wall UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must. Guests also have easy access to our other local market towns of Alston and Brampton. Very close by in our village is the beautiful Heather Glen Country House Hotel. Open Friday Saturday and Sundays offering 5 star dining, lounges with open fires and bar. Should you have friends visiting they have seven boutique bedrooms, including two dog friendly. One and a half miles from us the village of Armathwaite has lovely walks through Coombs Woods, and along the River Eden. There are also two inns, Fox & Pheasant and Dukes Head, as well as an exceptionally well stocked village shop, and train station on the historically famous Settle Line, running between Carlisle and Leeds. Within 6 miles there are four further villages with four pubs between them, serving food on varying days.
