The property was in a great location and easy to walk into town. Small Morrisons and co op, fish and chip shop both within a few minutes walk away. Parking was super easy either on the road or a small car park behind that was free. The cottage was...

Location was very central and in east reach of all Frome’s shopping, sights & dining. The cottage was cozy and comfortably hosted our family of 5 tall people. Despite the cottage being on a historic narrow street, we were able to easily find...

Fern Tree is a special compact, bijou and quirky 300 hundred year old cottage situated in the heart of the conservation area in the historic town of Frome. Feel the atmosphere as you walk in that only time can create. It has a master bedroom with a king size bed. The second bedroom has the stairs to the attic room, there is no door between them. Two fun size single beds and a mattress for the 6th person is on the floor. A beautiful handmade well equipped kitchen leads you out to a stone peaceful sunny courtyard. BREAKFAST. there are a selection of cereals and porridge to help your self to. Fern tree cottage can comfortably accommodate 5 adults, or 4/5 adults and up to 1/3 children. It is a tight squeeze for 6 adults as one bed is mattress on the floor and the sofas seat 5 adults. The decor is lusterous and colourful but has a homely comfortable feel with a log burner. We provide kindling fire lighters and matches, and upon request provide wood at current market price. Quirky means due to the age of the cottage it has low doorways and beams ceilings and the stairs are narrow but this adds to its character. The cottage has been recently refurbished and has old slate and terracotta floors, a handmade wood kitchen and has been decorated with a sympathetic slant to the olden days as well as a modern and eccentric twist. Parking is on street and a car park behind, its all free but limited due top the age and narrowness of the road, so please bring as few cars as is possible.
Hi i'm Tamasine. I am self employed working as a stained glass artist taking commissions and teaching classes in my beautiful secret garden studio in the heart of Frome. Born and bred in Somerset I still feel like I am on holiday every day living in Frome. I love nothing more than to stroll around the town exploring the centre and the many independent shops, the myriad of alleys and streets admiring the old historical buildings. Frome will always surprise you with a hidden gem. We love to walk in the surrounding countryside or cycle along the canal and cycle paths stopping for lunch along the way in one of the lovely villages that surround Frome. There is plenty of foraging to be had in our Somerset countryside. I love arts and crafts and live music and I will often be found having a dance to one of the many local live bands in the town. I have also travelled extensively and stayed in many different kinds of places so we have tried to use this experience to make your stay at our cottage comfortable and fairly priced. You can see examples of stained glass around the cottage which are for sale or can be commissioned. Visit artglassbydesign co uk
Frome is a beautiful and interesting historic town. It is a well loved by both the residents and visitors, vibrant with the arts and crafts, music and very friendly with lots of fun and interesting thing to do every day. Frome is well known for its independent shops, restaurants and cafes as well as its local independent council. Fern Tree is in the artisan quarter of Frome. On the door step is many local amenities, Williams butchers, the best in town. Local shops, pubs and restaurants. Our favourites are the Griffin ,a 300 year old micro brewery specialising in craft ales, Lottie's Bistro a celebrated French bistro. Stroll down Catherine Hill a cobbled street and pass the many independent shops , cafes and restaurants. Frome is 25 minuets from Bath, 10 minutes from Longleat and 20minutes from Stourhead house and gardens and surrounded by the beautiful Somerset countryside providing many walking and cycling routes. Every first Sunday of the month is the famous Frome Artisan market.
