This really unique and fascinating Grade II* listed property is of immense historical interest, built in around 1520, it is in the heart of the Citadel. This holiday cottage has a turned Tudor staircase, is heavily beamed throughout with a Tudor bread oven in the laundry room. It is an ideal base to explore the cobbled streets of Rye. Flushing House is in close walking distance to the Kino cinema, lots of excellent restaurants, pubs and bars.
I live in Rye, East Sussex - a lovely medieval town with lots of character, interesting buildings and history. Flushing House, my unique cottage, is a grade 2* building, one of very few such buildings in the country because it’s of it is of architectural and historic significance. As I live in Rye, close to the cottage, I can assist where necessary with anything a guest needs to know or have help with. We live nearby and will arrange key collection. Please report any breakages and contact us before you leave. There’s a handbook for guests in the kitchen with details about the rooms.
We are in the centre of the historic citadel area on a cobbled street. There are many architecturally interesting houses nearby. Our cottage is grade 2* listed which means it is one of a very small number of houses in the country in this category. It achieves its star because it is deemed to be of architectural and historical interest. Parking can be in the street but it is at a premium in a medieval town. Everything needed is within 5 minutes walk from the cottage.
