Very modern and comfortable out of town apartment with a Christmas tree and mince pies! We stayed here whilst attending our Company Christmas party at a city hotel and it was a pleasure to return to this quiet warm place after noisy night out. There is free parking here and we used taxis to go to our party because Stirling is parking hell and the walk up that steep hill to the party venue in the old town could kill an Olympic athlete. There are busses from the end of the road to the station but the taxi was quick, had an app and was well priced. We used the butcher that our hosts recommended in the village to buy our breakfast and it was delicious. The supermarket is ok too. We took time to explore the area by car and would highly recommend visiting the trossachs “3 lochs forest drive” which was stunning.

Situated in the popular village of Cambusbarron, within 40 minutes' walking distance of Stirling Castle, the Mhuilinn Apartment offers the tranquillity of the countryside with the convenience of village and city life.

Cambusbarron is a small, interesting village that sits in the shadow of the historic Gillies Hill with views to the north of the Trossachs hills beyond Callander. Cambusbarron and the nearby Gillies Hill are steeped in some of Scotland's most colourful history. Ghillies Hill played a pivotal role in the Battle of Bannockburn: it is the hill from which Robert the Bruce’s camp followers, or Gillies, descended onto the field of the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 turning the tide of the battle which granted Scotland nearly 400 years of independence. There are also two Iron Age Forts on the hill which date back over 2000 years: Wallstane Dun and Gillies Hill Fort which date back over 2000 years. Perfectly located for hill walkers, this property is only a 30 min drive from the heart of the hill walkers' paradise of the Trossachs. Despite its small size, the village has a small cafe and pub, The Foresters Arms, both of which serve delicious food.
