The settings of this hotel are beautiful and very tranquil. The architect of the building is just absolutely amazing, however, the furniture and fixings are a bit tired looking and could be upgraded. This slightly negative remark about furniture would definitely not stop me from returning because my overall visit was so relaxing and the cleanliness of the room was excellent. Finally, the food was great but service was a bit slow but extremely friendly. I'll be back.

We received a friendly welcome and shown our room which was perfect. It was spotless the bed was comfy and had a great shower. The breakfast was cooked to order and was perfect. Tea and coffee you make yourself, some people may not like that. The owner took over at an unfortunate time, just before covid, but has done a wonderful job building a very successful business.

A lovely welcome and then Paul was so friendly all the way through our visit. He shared lots of local knowledge with us. We really appreciated the flexibility Paul offered us. Really, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
The position was perfect and but also really quiet.

We did part of the Northumberland Coastal walk (Cresswell to Dunstanburgh) and found the locals to be very friendly. Lots of free car parks near the coast, very well sign posted and plenty of benches.

Came for the Northumbrian Gathering.
Came for the Northumbrian Gathering. It's a great event if you like folk music and dancing. Lots of local culture. Talented artists. And the town itself is very attractive. It is small enough to park and walk to all places of interest.

Secret Cottage, Morpeth (Host: Alex) Morpeth was fine but accommodation and host not so good. Reported a major fault (no lighting in the main bathroom) this was not repaired during stay and to add insult to injury the host lied about everything in response to my review of Booking.com. Please don't trust this host or give him any of your hard-earned cash as he doesn't deserve the business. He was totally unsympathetic and had a terrible attitude. He said "go ahead and report to Booking.com because at the end of the day it is up to the host if a refund is given". AVOID THIS HOST!

Morpeth is a lovely little town.
Morpeth is a lovely little town. Highlights for me were the bagpipe museum - really is great - the park and all the little shops, especially the cheese shop by the clock tower. I went in windy January on a bicycle, which was not ideal, but I still really enjoyed myself.

We were only there for one night for a family birthday so did not get the opportunity to visit all the shops in the town centre. We did go to a fantastic Italian Restaurant Lollo Rosso which served amazing food and such attentive and friendly staff.
I really liked the whole experience of staying at Drovers. It was straightforward dealing with the property owner who was really helpful as was the person who I collected the keys from. Everything was in close proximity to the property and always a car space was available in the street which was very quiet and well kept. I really enjoyed staying in Morpeth with the range of places to visit, cafes and restaurants which were excellent value and quality.
Great place to start or have a break when cycling or visiting the area.
Book for evening meal or you will be disappointed. Very popular restaurant excellent food and service!!
Bed and breakfast good value for money.
Full english breakfast was delicious and just the right size.
Beautifully decorated restaurant.
If you want a quiet and tranquil place to rest and charge up your batteries, this is the place.
The hotel was very central for Morpeth. Booking in was very easy. The gentleman who booked us in was very helpful. When asked if he knew any eating places, he offered to get us a microwave if we decided to buy something in. Room was clean and lovely and warm. A bit tired but no complaints. Would definitely go back again.Good value for money. Thank you for a nice stay.
Peaceful and secluded. Very clean throughout. Lovely shower and bathrooms. Very quirky furnishings. Nice BBQ area out back with a firepit. It was a lovely place to stay.
|Not too much close by, but the Northumberland beaches only 15 minutes away by car. Same for Alnwick where we found some really nice restaurants.
A combined work and leisure visit to Morpeth with 3 generations sharing the property - met all of our needs. The on-street parking was occasionally busy so had to park some distance away, but as the driver I have full mobility so just dropped the less mobile at the house and then parked up.
Clean and comfortable B&B with very friendly hosts. Breakfast was really first class. Within easy walking distance of Morpeth town center where there is a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Lollo Rosso Italian restaurant highly recommended. I'd stay again without hesitation.
The location was fantastic , very quiet with nice views , the lodge was very cosy and the hot tub was great. It had everything you need for a self catering holiday and the bottle of prosecco on arrival was a nice touch , the wi-fi was very good and we had a really nice stay.
Perfect location in centre of Morpeth, lovely home-from-home cottage, excellent host, great communication, free parking and WiFi. We would not hesitate to recommend The Duck and Heron and will be booking again in the future. Thank you.
Amazing studio flat in the centre of town. Decorated like a boutique hotel but with everything you could need from self-catering. I would definitely recommend it, we will be back. Car parking right outside the studio.
Very spacious room and we were given three beds other than the expected 2. Staff were very friendly and accommodationing. Breakfast was excellent and the pub had a nice atomsphere and outside seating area was amazing
Lovely new eastate, surrounds this hotel. Plenty of outdoor seating and the food although not a lot of choice was very tasty. Clos by is the old market town of Morpeth well worth a visit and walk around.
The flat was beautiful, really comfortable I will definitely stay there again . The Christmas tree was a lovely touch.
It's also really handy for Morpeth shops.
It's cheap and they always have rooms! Ok if you are in a pinch or at short notice. Bed was ok, no breakfast was available, which is probably a good thing.
