we booked the cottage at very short notice following a sudden deterioration in a relative's health. In the end we needed to change plans at the last minute. Louise was able to add an additional night and flexed around me as lead guest, no longer staying. She was also incredibly helpful about flexible arrival times. My partner ended up working from the cottage for a day and the facilities were also perfect for this.

Raynolds Cottage, dating back to 1742, built by Thomas Raynolds, stonemason, completely renovated in 2018, offers luxury accommodation for up to 4 people. Ideal for 2 couples, a family or couples or business travellers requiring a home from home. Features open plan lounge, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, shaker style units, integrated appliances, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, oven , Nespresso, washer dryer and granite work tops. Solid oak flooring, modern furniture & decoration, French doors leading to south facing patio, walled garden area with outside sofa & chairs, bistro dining set, a real sun trap in summer! Upstairs, 2 double bedrooms, one with king size bed, white cotton bed linen,fluffy robes & Molton Brown toiletries. Each bedroom has large en suite bathroom, one with bath/shower and one with walk in shower. Smart TV sets in the lounge and both bedrooms. Two designated parking spaces at the door. SAMPLE REVIEW "What a find, this cottage is outstanding in every way. Louise has clearly gone to great lengths to ensure her guests every comfort. Superbly well appointed, there is simply nothing negative to say about our stay in this lovely spacious cottage"
I have lived in Old Blidworth for over 40 years and have been hosting guests in our properties since 2013. I enjoy staying in good quality hotels and holiday properties and this inspired me to provide self catering accommodation of a high standard. I have enjoyed hosting guests from all corners of the globe, many of whom have become regular visitors and friends. Raynolds Cottage is self contained and guests have appreciated the privacy & comfort offered, in the knowledge that I am always available to deal with any problems. This has been reflected in the positive feedback left by guests and attainment of 4 star gold award status by Visit Britain.
A great place to stay in the Sherwood Forest conservation area village of Old Blidworth. Nottingham City Centre is less than 30 minutes drive and we are close to Mansfield, Southwell, Newark & M1 motorway junctions 27 & 28. Derbyshire Peak District, Newstead Abbey, Rufford Park, Sherwood Pines, Clumber Park, White Post Farm & Wheelgate Adventure Park are just some of the nearby places to visit. The local countryside and forest around Blidworth offers opportunities for walking, cycling & horse riding. Blidworth is well endowed with pubs and takeaways, including the Black Bull Bar & Bistro awarded 'Best Restaurant in Nottinghamshire', serving gourmet food, pizzas & breakfasts. No need to take the car if you want a meal out and a drink!
