Britannia Hotel City Centre Manchester, hotel in Manchester

Set in a magnificent Victorian building, Britannia Hotel is just 10 minutes' walk from Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station. With WiFi, the hotel is 1 mile from Manchester Cathedral.

Great check in, worked hard to get us a lower floor room. Fantastic foyer, look up, its dizzying. Clean room. Great location near train station and a three minute walk to trams that go to Co op Live and Stadium in ten minutes. Great selection of eateries within five minute walk, great location for local shops like spar, co op, post office etc also close by. There is both a Bar cocktails on tap and specials and lounge - at another ground floor location, quiet with deep leather sofas. Breakfast very good in a lovely dining room, full English buffet, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, pastries, croissants, muffins, cereals, toast, marmalade, jam, fruit, yoghurt, endless hot drinks by dispensing machine, fruit juices.

FAQs about hotels in Manchester

The Capital of the North

With an industrial past and a modern outlook, the complex fabric of Manchester is interlaced with interesting museums, English pubs and shopping centres.

Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

Manchester wouldn’t be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

Whether you’re flying into Manchester International Airport for business or partying in one of the 500 bars in city, Booking.com’s hotels and apartments can match your accommodation needs.

It is a good place to visit football match.

It is a good place to visit football match. The centre of the city is for one day. Very good local transport (trams), the top is near the hotel. Very good place, if you want to visit more form this part of England. Perfect train connection for one day trip to Liverpool, York, Chester or Nottingham. Very good connection to Wales (Conwy, Anglesey) and easy to get the Isle of Man by plane from the Manchester Airport. Very good but big Shopping Centre Trafford. Around the hotel calm and fine quorter the Salford Quays full of international restaurant, pubs and shops. By tram it is couple of minutes to Deansgate Castlefield part, where is also nice walk around river channels and to visit some fine local restaurant or pub.

A very up and coming city, when we ventured into the city it didn’t seem all that busy, we did a nice river cruise, we were guided through the history of the docks. Wear a jacket of some sort it can get chilly in areas. A visit to the Shambles square is a must to view the medieval and Tudor architecture, The Old Wellington Inn (which serves gorgeous food by the way) built perhaps in 1552, just after King Henry VIII reign..and Sinclair’s Oyster Bar is adjoined, but built much later, late seventeenth early eighteenth century, interesting read if you Google ‘Shambles’

Absolutely loved this hotel! It's brand new, located at the heart of Manchester in the most buzzing street with the best restaurants, bars and only a short walk from all the shops. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we were only there for a short stay so did not have the chance to check out the facilities however, the rooms were all super clean and the bathrooms were all equipped with L'Occtinate products which was a super nice surprise! We will definitely be going back.

Leonardo is a new 'brand' that took over the Jurys Inn brand in the UK and judging by the highly professional, relaxed environment is has created at the Manchester Central property I would definitely seek out other hotels under their management. The staff were professional and friendly and the rooms were beautifully designed with just the right balance between comfort and functionality. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff team at this property!

Clean. Helpful staff. Near transport link for city centre. Nice breakfast. Taking into account its location, value for money wise, it's up there. I've stayed before & had to move the date due to a concert being postponed. The hotel manager was very helpful in this instance, so it was at the forefront of my thoughts when needing a hotel in Manchester this time. To be honest, I'll probably stay here in the future if it is available.

The reception staff were lovely and the venue itself is perfect if you want to party in the city. Very comfortable rooms. Fun lighting and very clean. Love the bed! The hotel is really close to everything, so you’ll be fine getting around by foot and even with an Uber. It’s about 10 minutes to the main city centre. Quiet enough to sleep/recover, but perfect distance away from the liveliness of Manchester.

This hotel is definitely one of the best value for money in Manchester, the location is so good, right in the centre of the city, just outside the door is the square town hall and tram platform, there are many restaurants nearby. The hotel is very comfortable and clean and the people at reception were very friendly! And they have a restaurant and bar downstairs at ground floor and is very large and very cosy!

Really close to the public transport systems (two tram stops 2 minutes walk) which can be in city centre in 20 minutes - we’ll linked with routes to Old Trafford (both), Etihad, Piccadilly and Airport. I went for a Manchester City match which ended at 21:55 and was I back in the hotel on the other side of the city by 22:25. The tram system is brilliant to get around the whole city.
