Cottage Lodge Hotel is set in the Victorian village of Brockenhurst, nestled in the heart of the New Forest National Park.

It was old and quirky full of atmosphere . Breakfast was excellent. My room was clean but small but perfectly adequate for me. Staff were very friendly and helpful

Situated in the heart of New Forest in Brockenhurst, Thatched Cottage Hotel features free WiFi access and free private parking. The rooms feature a flat-screen TV and a kettle.

Helen and Phil were amazing hosts, and the staff were very friendly and pleasant. The breakfast is superb, the scrambled eggs were to die for, so light and fluffy haven't had scrambled eggs that good since the last time I was in France, and the breakfast was so substantial it kept us going all day. It is so peaceful there just the place to recharge the batteries. Can definitely recommend this hotel.

    It's a lovely peaceful village, plenty of walking but...

    It's a lovely peaceful village, plenty of walking but otherwise you need to get out of the village for shopping etc, however the train station is a two minute walk from the Thatched Cottage Hotel and trains run regularly to most places, and very reasonably priced. Great place to recharge the batteries. There are a couple of pubs for eating in the evening and they serve great food with very pleasant friendly staff.

    A great area for walking or cycling with lots of paths through its mix of woods, streams and heathland. Brockenhurst itself isn't the picture box thatched houses quaint village I was expecting but has a lovely main street with lots of independant shops.

    Good nights sleep as the sheets, duvet and pillows were crisp clean and comfortable. Good style with lovely features.The Host was very friendly. excellent breakfast. Local produce both in the room and breakfast. Lots of local info in the room. Very stylish room.

    Lots of different places to eat with a varied choice of cuisine. Great train service to the station that is in the village. Interesting mix of small shops to browse. All set in beautiful countryside.

    Cycle experience located next to train station was reasonable and allowed us 3 days to cycle around the new forest. The snake catcher pub served lovely meals and was close to accomodation. Shops close by within walking distance for every day items

    Ideal as a stopover location.

    Ideal as a stopover location. Good access by train, and driving route to Lyndhurst or Lymington is straightforward. Enough places to eat/drink, but not many shops. We visited the church by the ford - wonder why it had no graveyard? Seemed a bit bizarre! Nice walks close by and of course, plenty of ponies.

    A great stay in Brockenhurst. The guesthouse is right in the centre of the town, close to the station and has some pubs and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. There's a car park, and a nice garden out the back where we stored our bikes. We kindly got a bigger room upon arrival as I'm very tall. Very responsive owners. A good base for exploring the New Forest, would highly recommend the walk between Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst

    The Hotel is set in the perfect location and sits in its on well manicured grounds The Room was immaculate and very comfortable The restaurants are excellent with a good choice of food The Staff are very attentive and welcoming We have stayed at several Hotels within the New Forest but have know found our favourite we will definitely return

    The location of the property in Brockenhurst is beautiful; very quiet and opposite New Forest land and ponies. John is a most welcoming host and the breakfast each morning was generous and graciously served in the dining room. Our room was at the top of the house and had an adjoining lounge area.

    The hotel manages to feel luxurious, characterful and homely all at once! It was lovely to have table service every breakfast and to order whatever we wanted. We also enjoyed afternoon tea at the hotel. We visited the village, local pubs and restaurants, mere minutes from the hotel.
