The Golf Hotel, hotel in Anstruther

Located in Crail, 12 km from St Andrews Bay, The Golf Hotel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We arrived fairly late and were worried the kitchen was about to close but they made sure we were able to get some dinner. The food was lovely and when we moved to the bar area it was comfortable and welcoming. When we left I forgot my keys and book in the room and the staff called immediately to let me know then posted them to me as we weren't able to make it back. The location is wonderful, right by some great shops and just along from the harbour and a great beach, especially if you like rock pools! All in all a wonderful experience in a beautiful location.

Kilconquhar Castle Estate, hotel in Anstruther

Set in 120 acres of scenic Fife countryside, Kilconquhar Castle Estate features a heated indoor swimming pool, horse riding facilities and a salon with on-site health and beauty specialists.

Excellent quality of food and cooking. Lovely selection for breakfast and the evening menu had a great choice. The food was freshly prepared and cooked and was piping hot. The grounds were well kept. Normally hotel food can be a disappointing but Kilconquhar Castle Hotel food was excellent - best steak pie I have ever had and the smoked haddock for breakfast was delicious.

I visited Anstruther specifically for a boat trip to The Isle of May. The weather proved to be excellent for us and the trip I would recommend to anybody interested in Nature and specifically seabirds like Puffin, Arctic Tern, Cormorant, Shag, Guillemote, Razorbill and so on. I was there for 2 nights in a lovely B&B (Brackness House) which was within 5 minutes walk of the harbour meaning we had no need to seek parking (which can be an issue at busy times). Anstruther is a beautiful little fishing port and I will re-visit probably as part of a walking holiday on the Fife Coastal path. We ate at the Dreel pub on the one evening. A fabulous warm welcome and lovely food, though a bit limited for my wife who is a confessed fussy vegetarian. I found the meal to be a little expensive at first but have since learned about the tax issues facing small businesses in Scotland so have revised my opinion about the costs. It certainly was not over expensive and I would happily go back. We ate the second evening wotha takeaway from the Wee Chippy on the harbour front. Again lovely food, a little more expensive than I was expecting, but again, not massively so and probably reflective of all the local prices. I would happily recommend both the Dreel and Wee Chippy as places to eat.

The walks in this part of the country are stunning as are the beaches if you get the weather! And there's never a shortage of good places to eat. If you have a furry friend, the majority of the shops and restaurants are pet friendly.

Typical of this charming part of Scotland, quite unlike anywhere else. Lots of little known corners of interest. EATERIES aplenty Kellue Castle, Crail, nuclear bunker, coastal path, Fish market live, Crail raceway for stockcars, Kingsbarns beach, St Andrews etc all nearby plus Bass rock trips, fishing....

Anstruther is a lovely and lively little town in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife. It has a very picturesque harbour, good eating places, including the wonderful and award-winning Anstruther Fish Bar, a number of interesting shops and a well-stocked Co-op. It is within easy reach of other lovely little East Neuk towns/villages, including St Monans, Pittenweem and Crail, and the university town of St Andrews, which is a must for visitors to the area. The RNLI shop at Anstruther harbour has a really good selection of little presents to take home to loved ones, including the iconic yellow wellies for little feet!

Anstruther is a beautiful town, but can be very busy in summer months. Great for a walking holiday along Fife coastal path but it is not mobility scooter friendly with narrow pavements and no dropped kerbs. Great selection of fish and chip shops and small cafes.

It was perfection. Finished to the highest standard. So many lovely personal touches. The welcome basket was so nice. Mum loved the cake & biscuits, i loved the wine. Walkable down to the pub in Cellardyke and along to anstruther. ( if unlike me you dont have an 88yr old with you) Bed was comfy and got a great sleep. Communication with Jules was great. Probably one of the nicest apartments i have ever stayed in and i travel a lot!! Very very highly recommended!!

Close to the harbour in Anstruther, spacious and well-equipped, and the outside seating area is a bonus (if it isn’t raining). The house has lots of children’s books and games, which we didn’t use but would be great for a family with younger children. The kitchen was well-equipped and the TV and Wi-Fi worked very well. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and the showers worked well. The Dreel Tavern across the road is a great location for dinner.

The guesthouse was nicely situated in Anstruther and you could see that it was extremely popular. As a solo traveller it was nice to have a small room for my stay which was clean and well presented. The Waterfront's rooms also benefited from Sky Stream which was a great way to catch up on TV when you didn't want to brave a storm outside! Breakfast was included and it was a nice variety of options.

Lovely house, everything in good condition, well maintained and comfortable. Easy walk to centre of Anstruther. Also just a short walk to join Fife coastal path. The coastal scenery is superb. We walked in both directions along the coast on different days and enjoyed our car free days. Well worth doing. Good parking. We had a very good stay.
