Company info

Our names are Rene and Tom, and own and run Secluded Bali Villas that market and manager Istana Semer. Although originally from Indonesia and the UK respectively we have lived as far afield as Azerbaijan, UK, Thailand and Malaysia. In July 2008 we both gave up our high stress corporate jobs and took the plunge and committed to only managing and marketing our own villas in Bali, as well those of our friends. We wanted to do it properly however, and so using Tom's corporate background, and Rene's training and experience in hotel management, we registered as Secluded Bali Villas, set up all the systems and processes, and established an office in Bali as well. Our approach is very personal. We know all the villa owners, and visit and inspect every villa every few weeks. We will only ever look after a limited number of villas and now manage and market around 20 villas, 4 that we own personally. Needless to say our life has totally changed. Faces of children and adults alight as they breathe a sigh of relief entwined with excitement for their holidays ahead. Long lazy days by the pool, Bloody Mary’s on tap, the clubhouse housing the pool table and al fresco dining terrace with flowers tumbling from the roof; this is a villa to be enjoyed by all ages! The traditional open air Balinese architecture leaves a sitting and dining room of epic proportions, the huge professional kitchen is ideal for those running retreats to include cooking classes or perhaps those on holiday wishing to learn the art of balinese traditional recipes with the villa chef. Neighborhood info

Istana Semer is a serene gem in Umalas, and yet is just 5 to 10 minutes drive to the many bars, restaurants and shops of either Seminyak or Canggu. Taxis are easy to get to visit places. Our team can arrange it for you accordingly. Otherwise, a motorbike or car rental is also possible.
