Absolutely fantastic I really liked it. The place is beautiful with a nice pool and the location in the town center. They have a really nice restaurant that serves good local and Italian food. I think the biggest highlight for me though is the staff. They were so kind and helpful and support, they helped me with everything with tours with the Motorbike with train tickets basically with everything. They made my stay very comfortable and peaceful. I’m very grateful for their support. I would totally recommend to stay, it’s a little bit on the pricier side, but I totally worth it.

My room was really nice - comfortable bed; nice balcony with amazing view. Wisnu from the hotel took me on a fun walk around the village. The hotel is situated in a small village and the surroundings are very peaceful and beautiful. It was a good base for the Ijen hike. Wisnu also helped me order delivery from the small restaurant in the village, which I appreciated. This place is really good value for your money. It’s new and the quality is high. I’d definitely recommend it to others and would gladly stay again.

    ijen is pretty much overrated, it's a nice 6-hour-ish hike with above medium difficulty, the flame is underwhelming which is slightly bigger than a camp fire and the crater? go to Bromo instead. With the current volcano incident related to the Brazilian tourist, I am more convinced that people should be aware of tour guide's quality and training in East Java. Upon reading some brief information about traveling to Ijen, I found to mandatory in getting a guide, I went there alone and caught weird looks from other guides, some avoided my interactions when they found out I was alone, some others was good and paying attention.

    This area is a gem.

    This area is a gem. We stayed in Kalibaru and in Licin and visited Plantation De Grote Tuin in Kalibaru (a top visit as yu learn so much about the cultivation of spices, coffee, rubber, coco brown sugar, etc.) and also highly sustainable. In Licin we visited IJEN CRATER, which is spectular although very busy, and there are many other things to do in this area.

    Great city to visit if you want to hike up Gunung Ijen for sunrise. It's an icnredible hike, not too difficult, with some of the best views we have seen in all our 8 months travelling Southeast Asia. Banyuwangi was a very clean and friendly city with lots of cheap restaurants and we felt very safe walking in the evening. Stay at Snooze Ijen if you visit here!

    Lovely wee spot surrounded by nature. Good food spots on the main route u to town and lots of rice paddies and tranquility out near Juda homestay. Very convenient place to stay if arriving in Banyuwangi by train

    WONDERFUL CITY! The hidden gem in the most east of Java There are lot of beautiful things there in Banyuwangi: wonderful Mt. Ijen with one of 2 blue fires in the world, many beautiful nature both mountains, waterfall also ocean nature and savannah, cultures, traditional music/dances and typical food, etc.. etc.

    There are plenty of lovely places to visit in Java and...

    There are plenty of lovely places to visit in Java and Banyuwangi is not one of them. However if you drive 30 minutes into the mountains there was some lovely homestays with views of the padi fields and dense forest which I would recommend.

    Lovely staff and family that ran the homestay. Very accomodating of our late check-in time. Agus was a very friendly and helpful with organizing the Kawah Ijen tour. Gave good recommendations of local areas in Banyuwangi to explore! The homestay is right near Banyuwangi Kota station and therefore very easy to arrive to/check out of via the train. Very quiet despite the proximity to the station. We stayed during the end of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitri, so everywhere was very busy. I recommend staying here for a very good value for money.

    This property was lovely. Amazing location, 10 min walk to the main strip of Banyuwangi, but a bit peaceful. No air con but powerful fan that made me very comfortable, even in the hot wet season! My room was dark but that made it nice and cool and easy to sleep! Perfect. Great wifi. Lovely to pet some cats and to enjoy a cup of Indonesian coffee every morning.

    By far one of the best Places in Indonesia. super cool staff, always there for you and just giving a very nice vibe. the place is clean, comfy and very special design (looks more like a Hotel), especially on suites and first floor. i came back often, and always had a great experience! would love to come back

    This is a smaller hotel with a really good vibe and lovely, welcoming and friendly staff. The place felt cozy and relaxed. They also have a great restaurant on-site. Definitely try their pizza, it was delicious! A very enjoyable short stay overall.
