Host was extremely friendly and helpful in showing the property to us so we were comfortable utilizing the amenities. The tiny houses were well designed and tremendously comfortable. An absolute fun stay for anyone wanting to try a tiny home. The location easy to find and everything you’d want to have to make your stay comfortable was available. Highly recommend you spend several nights as one it just not enough!

The Hallormsstaður area is on a beautiful lake with the largest forest in Iceland nearby. Several significant waterfalls, including the 420 ft. Hengifoss, are minutes away by car. Undoubtedly, this was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip. It is situated in a secluded spot, surrounded by beautiful scenery, trees and lakes. There is ample parking space. The hotel's interior is well designed. The receptionist was more than helpful, explaining to us the hotel facilities and also showed us how to use a particular website about the Northern Lights. The room was quite spacious, cosy and comfortable, equipped with TV, coffee and tea, comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom and space for luggage. Luckily we managed to book the indoor hot bath and sauna for 1 hour (at an extra charge) and it was really a great experience! There is also an outdoor (free) hot tub which can be used till late. There, we were lucky that the night sky was clear and managed to see some Northern Lights. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. A small petrol station is close by, where we managed to wash our car before leaving.MARKMalta

The hotel was clean and comfortable with great beds. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was great. We didn't get a chance to try out the hottub and the spa, but that is an added bonus for anyone who has the time. Also there are some walking trails directly off the property to get a morning or evening walk in. The staff accidentally charged us twice for the room but resolved it immediately when we brought it to their attention.

We shared a family room that was very comfortable for a family of 3. The hotel is very clean. The staff at reception do triple duty as baristas and bartenders in the lobby and were very thoughtful. Everything here is pretty peaceful and relaxing — and the interiors have been upgraded from the exterior. A La carte dinner was decent and breakfast buffet was good, if typical.
