A beautiful old hotel with modern amenities, and an excellent restaurant. A perfect place to relax on the lake!

We loved the feel of this hotel, friendly, spacious, basic. There was area for just sitting and relaxing, playing games. Very close to Studlagil Canyon so ideal for those wanting to stay close by. Nice food as well.

Everything was perfect—location, room, comfort, cleanliness, and food.

We loved the atmosphere of the hotel and the rooms. The old furniture looked great! And it used very skillfully, even the refrigerator was nicely hidden in the big desk! Bed was very comfortable.

This is not a posh hotel.. but it has such a nice ambiance for relaxation and meditation! It has a nostalgic feel to it! The staff is welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is great.. we had a very delicious dinner and a good breakfast! The food was outstanding and affordable! The waitress was very attentive and kind. The surroundings of the property is exceptional.. with the hotel overlooking the lake and the mountains.. on the sides there are small ports and the back of a hotel is a resting town rich in history.

Very cozy, comfortable, clean. Nice personnel and you have access to tea/coffee area. Also, sauna and hot tube available, unfortunately we didn’t have to use it, but it looked nice. Breakfast was tasty too.

The entire hotel was amazing. The rooms were really nice and clean. There was a common area with a kitchenette and some sofas where we ended up spending our evening. There is also a restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast. The food was great. Overall, it was an amazing stay with great views.

Enjoyed peaceful surroundings with beautiful forest views right from the windows. The hotel location was fantastic - secluded away from the town but only a short drive away. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout my stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable, making for a relaxing experience. Breakfast was excellent, and the dinner options were tasty and satisfying. I would definitely stay again!

booked it online, arrived at the hotel, which is located next to a new bright shiny hotel but the Post hotel is in an old building that looks like a ruin at first glance so I thought this was a scam ? ... but no... don't judge a book by its cover , don't judge a hotel by its outside appearance, ... inside it is fresh, new , clean, wonderful... it is like a museum outside , almost like an abandoned ghost-town movieset hahahha, I love it... but very clean fresh nice rooms inside, and my room was right near the kitchen so it wasn't far to go get coffee ;-)

These rooms are centrally located and well appointed. We were pleasantly surprised that our room had a washing machine. The bathroom was larger than most as well. Management was quick to respond to our inquiries - great service!

The location was quaint and unique. Olivia, at reception, was welcoming and supplied lots of information about the area as well as Icelandic culture.

This place was a bit off the beaten path which we love. We were a little worried as we were driving down the road, because there were some less than desirable guest houses to stay at. When we pulled in, we were very happy. This place seemed brand new! Pretty sure it was family run. The staff was super friendly! My husband and I only wished we would have had dinner here, because it smelled amazing. We did have a drink at the bar before settling in for the night. All and all it was the perfect little place to stay!

Great location, facility maintained excellent,staff nice and professional, breakfast lots of variety, fresh. Particularly hotel provide complimentary swimming pool, sunna, hot tabs at the community center, great experience social and interacting with the locals. Ice land has the best public recreation services and facilities

We had a very beautiful room on the first floor overlooking the small lake. The view was fantastic. You could sit by the window and never get tired of looking outside. Overall, the whole place is probably the quietest village we stayed in during our trip to Iceland. There was a kitchen area with various frozen foods, drinks, snacks, and other items that you could buy by paying with your card yourself at the machine. We baked pizzas and grabbed some cold beers. Luckily, because by the time we arrived, the supermarket was already closed. There is an oven and a microwave, but there are no stovetops for frying (for example, eggs). Coffee is free. A very lovely place. We highly recommend it.
