La Chiantata has been in the family for a few generations, the original farmhouse dates back to the late 19th early 20th century and the current villa still includes the 3 original rooms with their typical star ceilings. The villa has been extended a few times and has recently been refurbished sympathetically and lovingly; we have added some local art for you to appreciate and most materials, furnishings and crockery are from local artisan producers. The house sits in 10 acres of centuries-old olive grove, we produce our own olive oil, Golden Nectar, which you will have the opportunity to use in the kitchen. There are various outdoor areas and al fresco dining areas near our lovely salt-water infinity pool. Try making your own pizzas in our pizza over or BBQ by the pool. The property is ideal for families with children and friends sharing. The property is rented exclusively and you can rent the first floor apartment as well if you are more than 10 people. We have a lot for children of various ages, ride-ons, playground, pool, toys, bicycles, xBox, Netflix to name just a few. The property is fully fenced off.
Alessandro and I met in London back in 2001, we took La Chiantata over from his parents and siblings in 2006. We are passionate about Puglia, we love to visit the various towns around the area such as Alberobello with it's World Heritage Trullis, the elegant Martina Franca, the iconic ceramic town of Grottaglie, the white city of Ostuni (just 20 minutes), the quirky Cisternino with it's meat BBQ restaurants, beautiful Lecce and scenic Gallipoli and Santa Maria di Leuca to name just a few. We love the local producers, be it the artists, the artisans, the "Slow Food" member caseificio Lanzilotti which according to us produces the best mozzarella's in all shapes and forms in the world, and the numerous exciting typical restaurants.
There is so much to do and see around the area, you will need a few weeks to appreciate it all, may be you just like to beach hop and rest and enjoy all that La Chiantata has to offer, but that's the beauty of this place, if you like to visit beautiful sites, taste amazing food, see local art and cultures or just like to shop for some amazing finds, you can do it all, La Chiantata is conveniently located to visit loads of scenic, historic and interesting towns. You can also do a winery toor or just drive down to the southern tip for a day trip or you can just stay and chill out at around the pool, knowing your loved ones will be entertained.
