Most wonderful property and staff! Property is a peaceful oasis and one of two very special hotels that we stayed at during an 8-night trip to Puglia- highly recommend!
Breakfast was wonderful, outside, relaxed and delicious. Dinner was lovely too!

I would like to thank Alexander for understanding that we could not arrive at the hotel on the dates we booked because of the war in Israel and gave us the option to come whenever we wanted and kept the payment we paid in advance.
It’s good that there are honest people in the world.
Thank again

Reasons why Dorotea and her daughter are amazing:
1. We got in at 1:00am and they waited up for us to get us checked in.
2. We washed some of our clothes in the sink and hung them on the shower to dry. When we got back to the room, they had hung up our clothes to dry in the sun. I almost cried it was so nice.
3. We ordered something from Germany to be shipped to the hotel and it got lost. The host helped us track down and retrieve the package.
4. They conversed with us every morning at breakfast and gave us recommendations.
5. The had homemade unique cakes everyday at breakfast.
6. They had fresh meat (homemade by Dorotea's father) and cheese every day at breakfast.
7. They made us custom swan towel art in the room!!
We were the worst guests and did not deserve them. BOOK THIS PLACE!!!

We chose Relais Santa Maria in Martina Franca as our base for Val’Itria. We wanted to explore the area without a rental car.
Francesco and Sara, owners of Relais Santa Maria, wowed us with their attentiveness and generosity of spirit.
Long before our arrival, they kindly gave us advice about easy access from Martina Franca by public bus to Alberobello and Locorotondo —each a short distance away.
The BB is in old town with its narrow streets of white washed homes adorned with potted plants. The BB is about 5 min walk from everything in old town.
The BB has stone interior walls that evoke history yet is updated for our contemporary times. The artful decor is shown in the BB photos. The bathroom sinks and area are very striking.
Our stay came with breakfast. Sara brought to our room the most amazing and plentiful breakfasts ! Our hosts wanted us to try and brought us the specialties of Martina Franca — freshly made burrata and capocolla ham. We had the best cornetti al pistacchio.
We managed to communicate well in spite of my so so Italian and their so so English— thanks to the translation app! They were always available with prompt replies via WhatsApp.
If looking for an alternative to a masseria in the countryside, Relais Santa Maria is THE place to stay in Martina Franca! We loved it — and loved discovering the warm and kind people and the best food of Martina Franca ! Dovremmo vivere tutti in Puglia!

Martina Franc combines beauty and cleanliness with many of the services of a large city. The restaurants are very good. The cafes on the square are a great place to enjoy coffee and pastry while people watching. The people are friendly and helpful. My Italian is not good but if the person I was speaking to didn't understand me they found someone that did speak English.

Martina Franca is a charming town, not overly touristed, with many restaurants and bars. We especially like Muscato Bar for our morning coffee and cornetto and also for afternoon apertivi; Culo e Camicia makes fantastic pizza; fried pizza appetizer, and any pasta with with the homemade tomato sauce at Ristorante Garibaldi is THE BEST! The people of Martina Franca are friendly; many speak some English. It is a great base for exploring Alberobello, Locorotondo, Cisternino, Taranto, and Grotto di Castellana.

I loved how clean it was and the secured parking and how close it was to old town Martina Franca. I also liked that it was a Trulli home . The host helped me so much in planning my travels while driving.

Martina Franca is a beautiful town, probably a little overlooked by a lot of visitors because of its close proximity to Locorotondo, Aberobello and Cisternino, though it also offers a great base to visit them from. The town has some fantastic architecture along its streets, particularly in the old town and the piazzas are great locations for admiring the buildings and a bit of relaxation. There are lots of restaurants to choose from and with less tourists around you can really immerse yourself in the Italian culture and way of life.

Martina Franca is an understated and not always well explored city, but worth a lot if consideration as a place to explore the region, it is a magical Baroque small city, divided into old and new ,and both worth time , esp the old section , beautiful squares, a magnificent Cathedral, where if you are lucky you my see a typical and exciting Italian wedding taking place any day of the week , so many restaurants, of all manner of food, amazing valley views of the Valle of idris and proximity to many well known and much visited villages such a Alberbello
Don’t miss this beautiful place , stay afew dys and be surprised

Not too small, not too big.
Not too small, not too big. It has enough restaurants and caffees to offer great variety of options and fun for a week or so, but the owners still have to care because the influx of tourists isn't unlimited.
The Tripoli caffee nearby, has an amazing ice creams, fragola and melon tastes are worth a million.
Famous Alberobello is only near 15 or-so kilometers away.
Hotel is perfectly located in between the 4 towns of the Valle d’Istria. Very easy to reach using maps apps. The staff is exceptional, especially hotel manager Katia she went way beyond to make sure we would have the best possibile time. Helped us plan our activities, always available to help and doing everything with a smile. We stayed in one of the traditional rooms built in a trullo, very spacious and fresh (equipped with AC). Breakfast was delicious and offered local products.
The property is so clean and spacious. It is a part Trulli home. I was greeted with home made treats after a long day of driving and of course smile and great directions to the old town of Martina Franca. The property is only 13 minutes away from Alberobello as well. The host gave me wonderful suggestions of where to eat but more importantly he told me what roads to take to the rest of the places I was going to. That helps a lot when you aren’t used to driving in Italy
The apartment is in city center in very quiet location. It is very charming and well equipped. The bedroom is down in a lower section of the house that was used in the past to keep fresh food and this allow you to stay cool in the night without air condition. Monica is very welcoming and give you all information you need for your stay. She suggested the free parking space and several restaurants that turned out very good.
To stay in a Trullo is an experience on it's own. The place is really beautiful, nested within vineyards, just a short drive away from Locorotondo, Martina Franca or Arbelobello. The Trullo was fully equipped with kitchen, refrigerator and kitchen accessories. The breakfast was also very delicious.
The wine tasting, which needs to be booked separately was a real highlight!
The owners and staff are absolutely friendly.
The location was perfect , just in city center near all restaurants and coffe shops. Cleanliness was at the best. Beds and pillows were good, offering a nice sleep! It was a whole spacius house including a nice terrace to have dinner/pizza or just a glass of wine. The ownner Giuseppe, was extremly friendly helping with orientation around the city and even solving some problems we met with our car!
would come again!
Wow, what an unexpected experience. We come from a rural district in Australia and this property was a great “find”. Our Trulli was great, we ate at the restaurant on site serving mostly produce from the farm and had the chance to explore the whole working farm. It was an oasis in a charming part of Italy. All the staff were very accomodating, especially with a couple of old Aussie’s who do not speak Italian!
The location was great, an easy walk into Martina Franca. We had chosen Martina Franca as a base to explore other towns in the area, but were delighted with Martina Franca itself, which was a discovery! The apartment is comfortable, and creatively arranged for the space, which is on the small side. It is modern, and the bathroom is very nice. There is free parking on a street not far away.
So wonderful a place, such a lovely hostess. Wonderful more than 100 years old Trulli, beautifully restored. Excellent pool area.
We visited right in the heat wave, so the nights were hot since there was no A/C, but with open windows even the hot nights were tolerable.
Perfectly situated for visits in central Puglia.
We could not have wished for anything more.
Very quiet place in the middle of the countryside. Masseria is very nice, carefully decorated in old/romantic style, room is comfortable and spacious, the breakfast was wonderful. The personnel are very kind and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this place for everyone who is looking to stay in this region in a nice atmosphere.
Fantastic,3 minutes walk to the gate of Centro storico…amazingly quiet and great Hosts,Elena and her husband are really passionate people about the town…easy going and the Appartment has Everything…and Parking space everywhere’s.surely a place to go When you want to discover Martina
Stylishly furnished and well maintained. The property is secure, spacious with a lovely pool, outside seating areas and a lovely outdoor dining space.
Location is great for visiting the towns of Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Albertobello and further Puglian gems.
Martina Franca is definitely hidden gem. I love this place a lot, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Self check in process is very smooth. The host sent me a lot of instructions to help me find the place.
Very nice and large rooms with private bathroom. Big open space living room and kitchen and big outdoor patio. Comfortable for groups or large families. Good privacy but very close to Martina Franca centre.
Amazing location easy to park near and close to everything worthy of visiting in Martina Franca - restaurants, bars and sights. The room was great - very different from anything we had tried, but loved it!
Prefect location. Martina France was the most beautiful city we visited and Barocco Art House was the prefect place to explore Puglia. The house is beautiful and the hosts were amazing and very helpful.
very comfortable and spacious. Traditional stone house, but completely renovated in a very tasteful manner. The courtyard was very nice for breakfast, sitting outside on the terrace.
great location, very nice apartment. Best starting point for spending few days in Martina Franca and in Puglia.
Our host was nice even though she did not speak English.
