Honestly this was my favorite stay out of all my hotels during 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. The property is beautiful and the rooms very clean, well laid out and cozy. But the thing that really set Misthill Rest apart is the impeccable service. Nusha, Mr. Najvy and the entire team is just top notch. Mr. Najvy was extremely caring kind and very accommodating to my driver. Kader. I appreciate that so much.

    Excellent place to visit in Sri Lanka. Very clean city with very good roads, nice parks and a lake. Beautiful waterfalls are within short distance. Excellent hotels and restaurants. Very friendly people.

    Great place to cool down in the highlands.

    Great place to cool down in the highlands. We actually use blankets, coats and hot showers in June, which was a very welcomed change to the scorching hot cultural triangle and beaches. The town is very close (5km) from one of the ends of the very underrated Pekoe Trail, a 300 km, 22 stages long distance hiking trail, that is very interesting to see not only the tea plantations but the life it rural communities. Also very interesting is to observe the many small, commercial vegetables gardens that are scattered all over town. The town is 1800 mts above the sea level, and in June, their monsoon season, was rainy. Everything was incredibly lush and green, and the temperature very pleasant.

    In the town you can visit colonial buildings (including the post office), Victoria Garden, Lake Gregory (that is probably a tuk tuk ride). There are opportunities to shop for gems. We also visited a number of very picturesque waterfalls, again a short tuk tuk ride away. We enjoyed plenty of hiking options a short car ride away from Nuwara Eliya. One segment of the Pekoe Trail starts in the nearby village of Kandapolla and it is the place where to take pictures of Sri Lankan countryside. The Horton Plains are also a car ride away. Nuwara Eliya is probably the coldest town in Sri Lanka. Make sure you pack warm clothes!

    What a cool little town.

    What a cool little town. Our stay was too short & we wish we could have stayed longer. It was nice to be in the mountains, the scenery is amazing. We loved visiting the tea plantations and it was nice to be somewhere cool, in fact it got very cold but it was enjoyable after the heat in the south. The days were nice and warm. We had 2 very nice meals on our stay. One at Cool Land Hot Hut, a great local cafe down some stairs. An awesome vibe and great prices for authentic local foods. The other was at the bar on the roundabout in the centre of town opposite the Windsor Hotel. It was a nice beer garden to sit & watch the evening unfold.

    Even with a few charming British buildings here and there, the town is rather ordinary, and not particularly walkable. For the real magic of Nuwara Eliya, it's best to hire a guide to take you to the outskirts of town to see the tea plantations, hiking trails, viewpoints, and waterfalls.

    The weather in Nuwara Eliya is simply wonderful.

    The weather in Nuwara Eliya is simply wonderful. No matter how many times you visit, you won't get tired of it. While the climate is fantastic, there isn't much entertainment to be found in the town. The best time to enjoy Nuwara Eliya is in April; other times of the year, it’s just okay. However, if you're looking to travel with your spouse, it's absolutely amazing!

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the beautiful surroundings.     A fantastic, super cosy little hotel in Nuwara Eliya. Perfectly placed with view of the mountains and tea gardens. But the best part is inside, Malinda and his team are doing everything in their power to make your stay as good as possible- and they succeed. Dinner, breakfast and even the sandwiches they made for us for our train trip were excellent. All homemade and very delicious. Furthermore they are such a pleasant bunch😀 We can highly recommend staying at Queensland.

    A nice hotel just outside of Nuwara Eliya with pool and spa facilities. The prices of the restaurants felt rather extortionate and the hotel felt a little outdated, which makes us think it wasn’t 100% worth the price of the stay. However, we had a comfortable night and overall enjoyed our stay.

    We loved the views, the service and the ‘home away from home’ feel. The hotel manager was absolutely incredible and the best host we have had in Sri Lanka. Thanks for having us! Just note the accomodation is quite far away from Nuwara Eliya town, and is more of a remote getaway.
