El Valle Sagrado de los Incas era la despensa del Imperio Incaico. De estas tierras salían los alimentos para el pueblo y la nobleza, sobre todo maíz, que era alimento sagrado para ellos. Las montañas sagradas también llamadas "Apus" son parte del paisaje a lo largo de la Carretera. Numerosos sitios arqueológicos para visitar cerca del alojamiento y otros en pueblos colindantes y en Cuzco sobre todo a 1 hora de distancia.
