Loved this little gem! The staff (Hugo, Tony, Ricardo, Sonia, Selena and João plus the chefs and cleaners) were so friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. Easy to grab the toboggan or bus to Funchal. Visit the Palace gardens and the gardens around the church.

Every morning, breakfast was a feast. My daughter is vegan so the waiter made special breakfast just for her. The view was incredible and the service was outstanding. Best hotel service that we have ever experienced. We also ate several dinners here and the food and service were excellent. Staff was also very helpful to arrange a car.

Ricardo warmly welcomed us with a glass of Madeira wine, then took time to tell us all about the local area and the island. The wait staff was amazing, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The breakfast buffet was over the top with items brought directly to your table! It is the best location for sightseeing as the Monte Palace Tropical Garden is a 5 minute walk as was the cable car to and from Funchal. The famous sled races are right around the corner. The other cable car is less than a 10 minute walk, and it takes you to the famous Madeira Botanical garden. Parking was available. We had a wonderful view of Funchal and the ocean from the enormous shared terrace outside our room. The bed was comfortable, and the entire place was very clean. The staff here is the crown jewel for sure. Ricardo checked us in and went out if his way to make sure we had all information. Sonia responded to a small issue with our room and had it taken care of in minutes. In the dining room , Antonio is truly amazing - personable, helpful with suggestions and a great waiter. The food is excellent and plentiful! The room is spotless and comfortable. There is no reason to not stay here!

The location was above Funchal with a stunning view of the city and the ocean. The cable car starts steps away and the Sled ride is 5 minutes away. The restaurant was terrific and breakfast on the terrace was divine! The staff were brilliant and super helpful

We had a wonderful time, stayed at the suite, because it was the only one with a king bed. Didn't have a balcony, but we only spent time at the hotel to sleep and have breakfast so it wasn't a big deal. Big space, nicely decorated, very very clean. It's a boutique hotel with only a few rooms, so very quiet and peaceful. The staff was very helpful, specially mr. Hugo, who made us feel very welcoming. Breakfast at the terrace with a beautiful view was perfect. We would' t think twice to choose Babosas Village again!
