Sweeping along the coast against a mountain backdrop, San Diego has easy living down to a fine art. Its wonderful beaches and mild climate make it a favorite spring break destination, and with over 40 city breweries, there are plenty of ice cold beers to set the mood.
The city’s most recognizable landmark is the Hotel del Coronado, a wooden Victorian beach resort, now a National Historic Landmark. As original Spanish mission and first in California, it's has been relocated to the Mission Valley area, and Old Town San Diego still has many Colonial buildings and quirky shops. Also great for shopping are Horton Plaza and the boutiques in the beachfront neighborhoods.
The city’s most famous attraction is its zoo in Balboa Park, a few blocks from San Diego International Airport. One of the world’s largest zoos, it is well worth a visit, as is the fantastic SeaWorld, home to several killer whales. To see wildlife in its natural habitat head to La Jolla beach where harbor seals rest, or watch whales in season from Point Loma Lighthouse.

San Diego area has many attractions which visitors could enjoy such as Sea World, The San Diego Zoo, Old Town and Legoland. The many beaches have much to offer the traveller as well. San Diego is a nice place to visit. We ate at many of the seafood and Mexican food restaurants.

If you're a smoker you may as well stay away from San Diego, the beaches were crowded and not a lot of places to sit. Everything is expensive. A few good points were there were a lot of restaurants, there was I believe a couple of amusement parks but we didn't attend those. Mission Bay has a lot of really cool seashells if you love to hunt for seashells

Very friendly city, with lots of very good facilities.
Very friendly city, with lots of very good facilities.
But things quite expensive.
As with a lot of places visited worldwide, travellers arriving at airport get ripped off by taxi drivers taking them from airport to hotel.
Rates ought to be clearly displayed so travellers can then make their choice.

The city appears clean, uncluttered, with lots of green space, beautiful flowering shrubs, flowers, palm trees, and beaches. We've visited before; this time we were in town for graduation at Point Loma Nazarene University, and enjoyed our stay. Balboa Park is amazing, and we attended an organ concert there last time.

Love the Little Italy section of Dan Diego.
Love the Little Italy section of Dan Diego. The Saturday market is wonderful in the plaza. The historic boats on the bay and the waterfront walk is beautiful. It's a pleasant walk to Seaport Village. Our grand daughter loves the carousel. The whale watching tours and dinner cruises are out of the area by the Midway historic ship.
We were able to park the car and walk to both sides of the island (bay side and Ferry Landing; and ocean side and Hotel Del Coronado). We walked to the ferry and went over to downtown San Diego and walked to enough attractions to fill a day and evening, then back to the ferry. On return, the patio seating area out on Orange Ave is awesome. The room had an island hut vibe to it. Convenient check-in and check-out. Groceries within walking distance allowed us to pit the lottle refrigerator to use. Good stay!
I booked a last minute room at the Keating because no other hotels had availability. I had to go to San Diego to visit friends who were at a conference and all the hotels in the Gaslamp District were either full or incredibly expensive. The Keating offered a rate under $300 which seemed very fair for what I saw in the pictures. I could tell it was an older property located in hundred-year old building but the location was where I needed to be.
I love the beautiful view of the Palm trees outside of my room. The room size was perfect and very clean, the carpet was clean, the staff was amiable, and the breakfast prices were reasonable. The hotel was 20 mins away from Downtown and attractions. I would recommend this hotel to stay in and will stay again next time I visit San Diego!
The Pool scenery is very beautiful and the pool temperature was just right, warm!
LOCATION!!! This hotel is in the heart of Little Italy!! Walking distance to so many restaurants and coffee shops. If you have a car, this hotel charges $35/day to park it, which was more reasonable than the other big name hotels in downtown San Diego. You don’t even need a car since the location is perfect, but for exploring the beaches and other areas of SD, it might be worth it to rent one.
Good value for a last minute booking. Free breakfast was nice and pretty good. Short walk to all the restaurants and nightlife at the Gaslamp Quarter.
Staff was very courteous and accommodating. Room was small but bed was comfortable. If you want a cheap place to enjoy San Diego downtown this hotel is not terrible. But don’t have high expectations .
This hotel is on the beach. There is nice area with sunbeds and chillin with ocean view. Beach is long so you can enjoy long walks. In the hotel you can borrow surfs, boogie boards for free. Hotel is next to the lifeguard headquarter so you can feel very safe. Nice places to eat are in walking distance.
Just stay somewhere else, I heard Hotel Circle is nice in San Diego. This place isn't worth the price, for the amenities that are falsely advertised. Honestly, they're are alot of shady residents that live at this motel as well. Too much traffic and late night owls.
Our room was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We also liked the waffle spot. We like staying in Hotel Circle when we visit San Diego. The price is right at Kings Inn so we were happy we found a great place to stay.
We booked a room with Concierge Services were available in a dedicated space and included breakfast (simple but quite OK). The area in San Diego of the hotel is easy for pedestrians and there are sufficient restaurants nearby.
It is a great hotel with a perfect location in the downtown San Diego.
The gym is spacious and well equipped.
There is a relatively cheap garage just across the street.
The check-in and check-out were super quick and easy.
I liked the layout, no long halls to walk to the room. Secure parking access on site right below hotel. Large breakfast area/lobby. Good coffee! Location is ideal for walking downtown San Diego or hopping on the train.
The hotel is conveniently located to everything in downtown San Diego. The room is very small, but very clean. For a one-night business stay, it is fine. Everything looks brand new. Staff was very nice.
convenient to old town. Loads of restaurants close by. we didn’t eat in hotel ! pool and jacuzzi which we didn’t use either ! location. close to train and bus stops! would use again if back in San Diego
The staff was super friendly, the room was spacious, the breakfast was great, location is good. The bed was super comfy. I would probably visit this hotel again when i would go back to San Diego.
Stayed here for a few nights as part of a road trip. Hotel is good and very well priced compared to Downtown San Diego, especially for parking. Sort of no frills but certainly did the job fine.
The style of the hotel was nice, specifically the bathrooms. The location was also decent, as I was able to walk to Little Italy, the San Diego Zoo, and downtown San Diego.
