The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean. The plumber or maintenance man was very nice, professional and seemed efficient. The staff, except for one woman, was very nice and helpful. The hotel was very quiet during the day, despite the renovations going on throughout the floor.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Executive Meeting Center Somerset, hotel in Somerset

Boasting extensive meeting and banquet facilities along with spacious guestrooms and modern and free amenities, this hotel is located on 16 beautiful acres adjacent to the Garden State Exhibit Center....

We booked the room for a local dance competition. We purposely chose this hotel due to its location and the indoor pool for the girls. The pool was closed because it didn’t pass inspection, though we were not told. There were dirty socks in our room when we checked in, along with an open paper clip which I almost stepped on, later that night, and some loose change. If the room had been vacuumed, those items would obviously not have been there. Our heat/air were not initially working so we had to call maintenance and there were also no working ice machines on 4 floors (I only tried 4 different floors because I got fed up and didn’t want to keep running around the hotel at 10:30 at night) - we also had hair on the floor of the bathroom which I just decided to clean myself because “enough was enough” already and I needed to get my daughter showered and to sleep for her competition early the next morning.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Somerset, hotel in Somerset

Just off I-287 and situated near the Garden State Convention Center, this all-suite hotel offers a free daily hot breakfast along with comfortable accommodations featuring full kitchens.

The suite was spacious. There was parking. The night staff at the front desk was great. The couch was comfortable, only thing I did not like after we got there the smoke alarm came out and everyone had to evacuate to go outside. It was around 11p. Besides that everything was great.

Would never recommend this hotel as I was treated as a second class citizen. I am a Hhonors Diamond member and a travel agent and was totally disgusted with the treatment received. The first room assigned, not the one I originally selected, stunk and was dirty. The second room had little bugs that looked like fleas so it made me think that whoever had the room prior had an animal in it and it was not cleaned well enough to put another guest in. The sink was cracked from one end of it to the other. I was told the GM was going to contact me but as of yet, I have heard from no one.

I was in Somerset to visit family, and I needed a quiet, comfortable room to sleep in that was conveniently located. Somerset Lofts fit that requirement, and was the least expensive option available. The rooms were spacious and laid out very nicely, but the hotel is showing signs of age and may not be for all travelers. If you choose to stay here, be prepared to endure minor inconvenience, but you will enjoy the space.

Hard to get any response from GM despite leaving several messages at the front desk I am an ADA person, the property is separated into one large pr o property and ours which was in the rear. Because of the distance it would have been easier for management to come to my suite tether than my walking to the front desk. I had advised the front desk of my limitations, to no avail. I received a visit to my suite by the assistant manager only after I had waited an hour following leaving a message on her answering machine. Since i don't believe in coincidences i attribute her visit to my placing a call to Sonesta's corporate office. I advised both corporate of the issues poor housekeeping, poor maintenance, safety issue ( smoke/fire detector covered by a plastic bag, it remained that way even after showing that to the assistant manager, upon our departure. Putting the safety of my family at risk. I'm 70 y.o and in palliative health care, so getting up on on a chair and reading above my head is out of the question. I've uploaded several photographs of my suites glaring faults and am waiting to see if they post. Additionally the staff treated us not as the reason for their jobs but an imposition on their time. Apparently hospitality training is sadly lacking at this location for its hires.

Unbeknownst to many, this is a beautiful area. Walked along the Delaware - Raritan Canal, and the Raritan River. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. This N.J. State Park stretches from New Brunswick to Trenton, 33 miles in all.

I always prefer this property when wanting to get away from home, or just wanting a few friends to come together. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming, never any complaints or need to complain about neighboring rooms. The rooms could be available to smoke in, esp for the rate they are asking.

    Hotel was clean.

Hotel was clean. Suite was clean although all dishes and silverware was in the dishwasher when I arrived. The bed was very comfortable and the front desk staff aaccommodating. However the hotels deposit policy and amount wss not accurate on their website. The hotel does not deal with any cash. So if you dont have an extra 100 to 300 dollars better book elsewhere.

The room was the perfect location for me. First floor, as requested, making it easier to take my dog down to the pet area as needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. I spoke with front desk Guy and Nami (sp??) in the evening and night hours. I needed to add extra days as I was having work done on my home. They readily assisted me each time. The rooms also absorbed most of the noise of people passing by, so my dogs were calmer than usual in a hotel. My stay was comfortable and peaceful.

I was told at the time of check-in that they cancelled my reservation it because they found bed-bugs in the room, and there is no other room available. There was no email or any kind of notification. I had to find another hotel. They still went ahead and charged me for the night, I have called booking.com and the hotel and but they have not refunded yet. BEWARE...STAY AWAY.

Staff was wonderful and responsive to every need, and extremely friendly. Lewis, Michael, Angela and Tamara (those are the names I remember, but everyone else was also wonderful). The StarBucks downstairs is a real bonus, and the staff there as well was warm and friendly. Even housekeeping all had smiles and seemed happy - not the same at every hotel.

Very dirty place inside and out! Lots of drugs around, people hanging around your car and hanging outside. Dirty bathrooms, smells terrible in the halls and rooms. Breakfast is a joke and to get a fork is ridiculous. Burnt holes on the blankets and a sin to ask for a clean towel! Never again especially the one in Somerset!
