Hampton Inn Channel Islands Harbor, hotel in Oxnard

This Oxnard hotel has an outdoor pool and tennis courts. Breakfast is offered daily to guests of The Hampton Inn, overlooking the Channel Islands Harbor.

I had a room facing the marina, which was lovely. The breakfast was better than I expected; I only wish that it had some non-dairy "milks". The room was furnished well with a very comfortable lounge chair and a kind of table/tray that was convenient for food or a book.

    I loved the location.

I loved the location. Right on the harbor and in a very quiet neighborhood. Our balcony faced the harbor side so we could sit there and watch the boats. Didn't like the pay for parking but that's normal anymore.

Getting to my cousin's house from our accommodations was tricky. After a couple of days, the trip was not bad. Had to learn how to use round abouts. Channel Island Shores National Park is small & very interesting. It does not take a lot of time to visit. Wish we could have chartered a boat trip to the Channel Islands. We did not have enough time. Next time I will fly to Oxnard & rent a car so I can spend more time at the beach. Spudnut Donuts made the largest donuts I have ever seen. It took us 2 days to eat one.

    Oxnard is surprisingly friendly.

Oxnard is surprisingly friendly. I walked around the downtown each day. There is a lot of community spirit. Drivers seemed very aware of pedestrians. Most drivers nodded and waved to let me know they saw me at right turn intersections. I saw a couple of residents out picking up trash. The sidewalk was spotless. A kid on a skateboard also stopped to pick up a plastic bag on the sidewalk. Felt like a community that was proud of their city. They seemed to care about the environment. Storefronts all had flowers blooming. Transit is easy and affordable to all beaches and destinations.

there is nothing here, its a little odd, and somewhat unsure of why you would go here except as a stop over. if the weather is nice, great beach. no infrastructure around it. Had a hard time finding places to eat and things to do.

Unfortunately we were in Oxnard just the one night. This property was beautiful. The staff was so nice. So helpful. When we got in our room the remote was not working. We also requested an extra pillow. In less than 5 minutes we had 2 pillows and a working remote. So happy we stayed here. Staff....everyone was just wonderful. Room was clean and fresh and the bed was very comfy. Do I recommend....absolutely!

I've been to Oxnard many times.

I've been to Oxnard many times. My brother has a sailboat in the marina and we love spending time on the boat. We decided to stay overnight this weekend. The Saturday late afternoon concerts in the park are fun, especially when cruising around the harbor by boat. The beaches are fun, and you can bring your dog before 9 AM and after 5 PM. I recommend Sea Fresh restaurant, especially when traveling with a dog. They welcome dogs on the outside patios, and even have dog bowls and water for them. One of my favorite things is stopping at the farm stands on the way home for fresh berries and tomatoes! All in all, we throughly enjoyed ourselves on a nice little weekend get away!

Super grateful for on-site breakfast being open early for early risers like me. Hotel is a little dated but was very clean and comfortable. Location is great, super easy to/from highway but also really close to a wonderful beach and the price of the hotel is a third of the nearby luxury hotel which tops $400+ per night. Getting to that same beach is super close so save money and stay here. Super close to a strip mall with a Ralph's and multiple stores and places to eat. On-site free parking -- always a plus in SoCal.

Good location as right off the 101 so perfect as a stop over hotel on a SoCal road trip. Room was clean but smelt a little musty and the carpet was sticky in places. Bed was big and comfy and room was spacious. The pool etc was closed when we arrived and we left before it was open but it looked a nice area. All in all it was perfectly fine for a one night stay over.

A wonderful surprise! It's a condo unit. The place has a fully equipped kitchen, even down to a blender. The location is so near to an access point to the beach. We just walked there in less than five minutes. Wanted to go into the hot tub, but was a little breezy for us desert rats. Hope to, next time we stay there.

Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a bit small, so it was hard to move in. Pool was great, and breakfast was good as well. Coffee was weak. It's located near a lot of places so it was nice to not have to drive far. Staff was super nice when checking in.

Location is great for being close to the beach and harbor, designated parking spot for each unit, our unit was on the ground-floor, near parking. Spacious 2 bedrooms, plus easy-to-use sofa bed meant good space for a family of 5 adults/teens.

This is a quiet property (if you have good neighbors) near the water. The flat is clean and spacious. All the appliances worked, and were easy to use. The hot tub was a relaxing way to end the day. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Room smelled like cigarettes. Bed was very uncomfortable. We have stayed at other hotels at a lower price and was provided with continental breakfast with not having the room smell and have such an uncomfortable bed to sleep on.
