Grab a table at the cafe outside the Adlon and just sit for a bit with a drink and a snack - or have a meal; the food is great. Read up on the history and pay attention to the lines of the Cold War era walls in this area. - There's a great photo just inside the Adlon entrance that has the disabled ramp to really help you see where the walls were with relation to the Gate.Guest review byAngelaUnited States

The room was very big and spacious, there was a balcony with a nice view of the city and a full sized kitchen. The hotel had free self service laundry which made things convenient. Public transport is 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel. Some attractions such as the Brandenburg Gate are a 20-30 minute walk away. The hotel is always open and even at night you can enter the hotel through the back door. The room and toilet are always clean, they clean every day. I was there to attend performances at the opera Staaatsoper...
I was there to attend performances at the opera Staaatsoper am Schiller theater. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the theater. There is a grocery store about 7-8 minutes from the hotel and another one about the same distance in another direction. It is about 30 minute walk to the Victory Column and an additional 30 minutes to the Brandenburg Gate and various memorials. Great flea/art market on Sundays (not sure if it is open on Saturdays). Deutsch Oper subway station is about 10 minute walk but I was always walking. Charlottenburg Palace is about 15 minutes away walking.Guest review byKennethUnited States
