In a picturesque cobbled street in Bath city centre, this 18th-century boutique-style hotel is a unique haven with modern, elegant bedrooms and a friendly, relaxing atmosphere. We liked how we were treated . After really bad start of the day that’s exactly what we needed.
It’s ok felt very herded in the one way system and always having to move along, would love to have visited pre COVID, wasn’t able to wait outside of toilets on corridor. For partner so we didn’t lose each other Apparently due to COVID, however they wanted you to queue on the next corridor to visit shop!!!!
FANTASTIC cultural experience, but go early - we were in at 9.30am and narrowly avoided some enormous queues. PS take the free audio guide which contains gold mines of information not found in the exhibit.
We booked in advance for access as soon as the baths opened. It meant an early breakfast but was really worth it because as the day went on the baths got more and more busy. We had a chance to see everything close up at our own speed and without large crowds. I
Allow up to three hours for everything and use the free headphones for the museum, followed by a free guide in English round the baths themselves starting every hour. There is also a booklet for younger children to fill in if needed!
Enjoyed our time here. I would suggest going early and pre booking your tickets on line. We did and entry was very quick, the two of us were the first in and we were able to get photographs without people. Very informative audio guide although a little confused as to what number to push at times!
Fantastic. Well organised & informative which continued to entertain. Other towns & cities could learn a lot from the way this experience was conveyed to anyone who entered this special & unique place.
The room had many extras such as a coffee making machine, iron and ironing board, wi-fi and a large tv. The bed was very narrow but it was extremely comfortable. The staff were all absolutely brilliant. Very helpful and informative. The spa was spotless and very good indeed, and the breakfast was great. The centre of Bath is small and the location of the hotel is perfect as it is right in the middle next to the Roman Baths.
Having stayed here before I knew what to expect with the rooms and washing facilities. The rooms are clean and the mattresses good with cotton bedding. This central location is excellent with the Theatre Royal opposite. It is easy to walk to the site from the station and High Street, Milsom Street, Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths and Thermae Spa are all within easy walking distance.
Such personal service from all at the hotel helpful and personable brilliant location, small intimate hotel only drawback is the stairs but you are in an old building 2 minutes from the Roman baths. We loved it.
Clean, spacious room. Terrific location, just 3 mins walk to the roman baths. Breakfast was good with a decent choice.
Delighted to find an additional 'Bryson' commentary on the audio devices available in the Roman Baths as well as the more traditional narration.
The Roman baths made you feel like you were in Rome.
The history and it's position being next to the roman baths
