It costs 22 euros to get a "lift" to the top. What they don't tell you is that you have to walk all the way down (200 steps). If you have trouble with your knees or with walking, don't do it. Definitely not accessible for those with walking impairments. It was a bit of a circus with all the people posing for photos in front of the cathedral in their fancy, sexy outfits.
Very nice inside - lots to see. Terraces walk up to the roof and edges is worth doing - I would skip the lift option unless you really don’t want to climb steps as it only takes you half way and costs a lot more plus you need to walk back down. Also the ticket queue early in the morning is short but by midday stretches down the street.
There were long lines still in the afternoon for tickets. It is worth the effort and time to experience the Duomo inside. We did not even attempt to do the duomo rooftop as there was long lines waiting to enter after the long lines to purchase the tickets. The surrounding plaza area was jammed packed with people as the city holds public events in the plaza in front of the Duomo making it a NYC on steroid experience with the inability to enjoy the plaza having to be re-rerouted to the surrounding area by the local police to attempt to do crowd control of sorts.
A really beautiful building, it is best to visit in the morning first thing we found as it gets busy and quite warm, even in April. Later on the queue. became very long. Buy tickets online from their website to avoid a long wait.
Don't miss the walk over rhe roof, if available (not sure about COVID-19 limitations) . Stonework is awesome to see up close, with lots of small delightful detais, and the view on a clear day is absolutely magnificent
This gothic Duomo is different inside and out, the rooftop terrace is all marble and worth a visit. Some of the stain glass windows are originally. We learned some things from our 40 minute tour guide.
Exceptional hotel! Modern and chic place right next to Duomo di Milano! You can walk to all the main attractions from the hotel, and also to the train station! The staff was super friendly and helpful! We were kindly given an upgrade to our room, which was a great surprise. The room had everything, including an in-room jacuzzi and sauna! The breakfast was also excellent!
Location was excellent, between Castello Sforzesco and the Cathedral (Duomo di Milano). The apartment is new and the space is well organized. All appliances are new (washing machine, fridge, induction cooktop) Perfect for 2 people but can host till 4 using folding beds. The host was flexible and managed to fit my needs.
Superb central location, just a minute walking distance from Duomo di Milano. The apartment is very classy, the rooms are well decorated and is in a very safe area. All very close to the Metro stations (Red and Yellow lines close by), La Scala is only 3 minutes away and the tram line is nearby.
Fabulous location only about 30 seconds walk from the Duomo di Milano and the metro station. It's in the heart of all the action and close to a lot of eateries and cafes. The apartment had high ceilings and was very spacious. Modern and clean. Very comfortable bed and couch.
the apartment was very comfortable, near the central area (Duomo di Milano, The Galleria), and metro stations were very close. They provided us with water bottles and the apartment had a/c. overall we had a good experience and highly recommend it.
+ VERY central + apartment with kitchen, free water & coffee + nice modern room + very friendly stuff + comfortable bed + balcony with view to the duomo + roof-top terrace at the public space of the hotel with fantastic view to duomo di milano
The staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was good and the coffee delicious! It had good connections to getting around the city, 15-20 min walk to Il Duomo di Milano and shopping.
Close to the Duomo di Milano, that was it!! It's the only thing that you'll like, trust me.
