Hotel Patavium has a wonderful breakfast selection and a lovely space for breakfast that looks out over a small area of lawn/garden. You can eat inside or on a patio area. The location is fantastic, located about halfway between the train station and the town center - it's about a 20-minute walk to either of those. There is a little market a couple of doors down, a grocery store around the corner, and a laundrette on the same street - as well as many small restaurants and cafes nearby. I've stayed here before and liked it so much that I came back. The second time I decided on a slightly bigger room, and that made a lot of difference - on my previous trip, the room I was in (their smallest, least expensive one) didn't really have the desk space I needed, but I found the junior suite to be very spacious. And the jacuzzi tub was wonderful at the end of a long day of walking. The staff is very friendly and helpful - consistently true on both of my visits here.

What a wonderful hotel. The staff was incredible and welcoming, helping me organize my itinerary, setting up my time in the spa, and giving good advice about things to see and do. The spa is a nice extra after hours of walking. I will return!

Buy tickets in advance, or upon arrival in Padua, as the number of persons admitted is small, and limited to 15-minute timed periods {and entrance through an air lock in order to preserve the incredible Giotto frescoes}.

Book the double time in the evening if you can (Giotto under the Stars); this will give you 40 minutes in the chapel instead of the usual 20 minutes. Even 40 minutes was a bit too short! The Sistine Chapel is more well-known, but I enjoyed my time in the Scrovegni Chapel more.

    It was wonderful!

It was wonderful! I had studied Art History in college and always wanted to see it. It did not disappoint! Painted in 1306 by the Master Giotto and his students. Giotto was the first to give paintings feeling. Yes, they are stiff, but have human emotions. See the angels at Christs death- they are torn up that Jesus is dead. One angel is marking her face with her fingernails! The parting of the lovers, I can feel how much they love each other and how much they will miss eachother. The chapel is set in a QUIET park with modern artwork in the reception building and modern sculpture in the gardens. In the back of the property is a cafe decorated with Italian Maidens- such a serene setting. In order to minimize Jet Lag and improve your health (and your appearance for all those photos you are going to be in)! We enjoyed our space with two rooms right near the Scrovegni Chapel. It was also close to several restaurants that we enjoyed. But one thing for which I will always be grateful is that on the day of our departure, when the taxi did not arrive to take us the the train station as scheduled, the manager woke up and arrived to check on its arrival. There is no doubt that without her intervention, we would have missed our flight. I highly recommend Palazzo Mantua Benavides.

Corine’s reception was very kind and helpful. We were able to have an early check-in. Our room was on the top floor, no elevators, but she took my suitcase up. We had to leave earlier than opening breakfast time, but they left fruit and biscuits in the kitchen for us. The location is perfect to go to Scrovegni Chapel and very close to the center. It’s also Close to the train station. We went to Venezia to spend the day.

Location is terrific. In the heart of Padua, very close to restaurants, coffee shops and the Scrovegni Chapel. Lots of room. Full kitchen. Our host was very helpful and even arranged to have a load of laundry done for us.

Very clean and cozy flat. Great location, walking distance from station, Scrovegni Chapel, and many shops/cafes. Lots of space. Kitchen had many appliances. Check-in was very easy and could be done entirely on your phone.

Location is walkable to Scrovegni Chapel. Convenient, but not at all when the property claims to have lost the keys and took 2 whole hours to locate them upon agreed check in time.

Property was very clean, with very nice stovetop and oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and washing machine and the building has an elevator. Owner was very nice and helpful. Property is in perfect location for St. Anthony's Basilica (approx. 5 minute walk). Very close to restaurants, good grocery store (PAM - a few minutes walk) and Scrovegni Chapel and museums (approx. 15 minute walk). Taxi to/from property is easiest way to get to/from train station. Approx. 12-14 Euros for 2 people per trip.

Our host was a delightful, lovely woman… so accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately our Italian was not fluent enough to communicate well with her. The BnB itself was totally modern (like a NYC apartment); fully stocked kitchen, great shower. Sixth floor, good lift. About 12 min walk to Scrovegni Chapel.

Very clean, modern, comfortable. Refrigerator in room which is less common than in the US. Breakfast included was exceptional. Location chosen because I was driving an electric car and this hotel had free parking (that we were able to use before check in) and was very close to 3 charging stations. Yet we could still walk to central Padova in under 30 minutes (20 minutes to Scrovegni Chapel), mostly in the historical city.

This was a large, clean and quite well located apartment (just a few minutes walk from the Scrovegni chapel). The shower was hot and the bed was comfortable and the kitchen was stocked for basic cooking. The train station was about a 10-15 minute walk away. They let us leave our bags in the foyer prior to check in.

I am older and handicapped, so Angela kindly made special arrangements to meet me, both when I arrived and when I was departing. She was the best thing about this rental! The location is fabulous if the Scrovegni Chapel is high on your destination list! Everything about the apartment is adequate to good. The air conditioner worked well for the bedroom, thank goodness!
