Wonderful Stay with Stunning Views and Excellent Hospitality We had an amazing stay at this lodge, thanks to the outstanding service provided by John and Sarah. Their warmth and attention to detail truly made our experience unforgettable. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking—waking up to such stunning scenery was a highlight of our trip. The breakfast was spot on—delicious, fresh, and perfectly curated to start the day on the right note. If you’re looking for a place that combines exceptional hospitality with beautiful surroundings, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

Lake Te Anau

The deep, indigo waters of Lake Te Anau are framed by lush virgin forest and snowy peaks. From the picturesque village, you can strike out on the walking path along the shore, taking in lovely views of the mountainous scenery along the way. For a different perspective, hire a kayak and explore the massive lake from water level.

Take a trip down Lake Te Anau aboard the Faith, a Yacht...

Take a trip down Lake Te Anau aboard the Faith, a Yacht built in the 1930's. It has been renovated but has the feel of years gone by. Originally built in Scotland and rumour has it that Churchill was known to have stepped aboard this vessel. Speak to Adam, the Owner, who knows its history and he can take you on a trip that you will never forget.

Try the sailing boat experience on the lake.

Try the sailing boat experience on the lake. Very knowledgeable captain who entertains with stories of the boat's extensive history, starting in the UK, getting to NZ and eventually to Lake Te Anau.

Visit the Bird Sanctuary. Costs nothing.

Visit the Bird Sanctuary. Costs nothing. They are a breeding centre relying on rescues who cannot return tom the wild. Whilst their young are rewilded once ready and fully fledged. They have Takahe, Kaka, parrakeats The Doubtful sound trip that leaves from Manapouri is well worth the trip.

The room was spacious and quite modern; USB/power outlets on either side of the beds. The kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom was well-lit and there was even a nightlight in there for any nighttime goers. The location was great, right across the street from the beautiful Lake Te Anau. And anything you else could want isn’t too far from where you are.

The Little Lake House has the most amazing views and the location is a 100/10! It was in a quiet neighborhood and you can literally walk across the street to get onto the lakeshore or the walking path that goes around Lake Te Anau. The bedrooms and bathrooms provided ample space for our large family and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking and enjoying meals. The decor was lovely, the beds were comfortable, and the patios offered great outdoor space on good weather days.

You can't beat the location. Lake Te Anau is across the street. There is a walkway along the lake which we enjoyed every night. It was also very convenient to get to our excursions from there.

The two room arrangement with a bed in a bedroom and another bed in the front room with the kitchenette worked out well for us. The two rooms were spacious and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The laundry facilities were excellent. The location is a short walk from a park and public beach. The managers were always on site and pleasant and helpful. Fiordland is stunningly beautiful and the best part of our trip. The RealNZ Milford Sound trip and the Lake Te Anau Discovery Cruise were both fabulous.

The hotel was located by the side of the Lake Te Anau. Our room was on the second floor of the building, which can clearly see the lake. The receptionist was nice and helpful.
